Why are you discrediting her by saying ''only'' two hits off one album? Those two hits are MASSIVE and extremely rare to get. Obviously Teenage Dream was more successful but Prism is a great success as well.

I rushed my ass to iTunes and bought "Roar" because I checked out the new Katy Perry song online when it leaked and loved what I heard. I bought it before it was a hit and before I ever heard it on the radio and I am not a Katy fan and even disliked Katy during HNC, CG and Firework (I also used to stan for Gaga). This is why I don't believe the theory that people only buy Katy singles because they're on the radio, personally

The lyric video came out a week prior and I think the single announcement was the week before it. She didn't debut it on TV or do any promo for it or anything. She just released a video for a fifth single on Youtube. As someone outside of her stanbase, I would've probably never known she had a new music video out without ATRL until I heard my local DJ mention it on the radio. That is what I personally meant as "random."

yeah because the digital market is declining if you haven't noticed...? but if you have noticed the streaming market is getting bigger AND Katy is getting huge in the streaming market too! Wow what a coincidence, don't you think?

No I won't say that because she's improving in almost every field so therefore she's obviously improving.

She's not even declining in the other 2 fields (singles and albums) but I'm not gonna argue about that because no matter what I say you'll still be against it so.

Yeah, the song is still rising, but it will most likely underperform compared to the likes of Roar and Dark Horse. She needs something new. I think the public is just beginning to grow tired of her current sound.

As long as Katy is able to switch it up with her next release, she should be fine. She's not "fading" at all.

She went from an album with around 100 copies sold to
an album with a few cute hits to
a HUGE album with 8 big hits to
an album with 2 HUGE hits.

It's safe to say she'll eventually have another TD-par era, but one album that's slightly smaller than the last doesn't mean she's fading.

I said in my post that I expected her sales to decline so I think it's safe to assume that I expect her sales to decline. That being said, I don't think it's delusional for people to think she's improving; her album is selling faster than TD (and could sell more in the end; the era is far from over), her touring power tripled, her streaming power more than doubled, etc. I personally use TEAs to gauge success so that's why I didn't say that I think she's improving, but it's not fair to act like the people who think she's improving don't have a based argument

You love Katy and people who check for Pop Music will buy her but are you a GP?, the GP won't buy her music because of her name, all of the people who bought Anything Goes are stans not the GP, stans can't make hits like Roar or Dark Horse, the GP makes them.
