Because having faith in God helps people get through their day-to-day lives. It's not all about getting into Heaven. He doesn't see being a Christian as a chore, having to follow the rules, etc. He finds strength in God. Additionally, he doesn't believe he is going to hell.

At the end of the day, your choice to identify with a religion is for you and no one else (unless you converted for marriage or something ).

Religion is not just black & white and it's hard to keep worshipping your religion strictly to the book when society has to keep moving forward and embrace all the changes that come with the times.

theres a difference between being gay and having a gay relation/affair
you don't get punished for just being gay unless you had an affair and theres also a difference between having an affair with someone form the same sex and the opposite sex

Bye. I personally think everyone should be entitled to believe or not believe in a religion in 2014.

Religion gives people hope, comfort, motivation and even a sense of accomplishment when they aren't getting it from just "living their life freely".

If believing in something you can't see, feel, hear, etc, gets you through the day and helps you finish what you have to do, then more power to you.

I just don't think people should credit religion for everything positive that happens but that's another thread for another day.

I think it's more of a thing you're raised on, or choose. 'Cause it ain't necessary, and I don't need God to get through my day-to-day life. Which is why I don't get you choosing it, but hey, it doesn't effect my life so no need to care about your PERSONAL decisions (whew if only some religions took note with the gays).

I was a Christian BECAUSE I was born and raised being told that's the way I'm supposed to live by family and society. I felt like I was always sinning, and most people would judge you if you weren't a Christian. It's hard but I admire anyone who can actually have a strong faith in God because it doesn't work for me no matter how much I try.

Pursue doesn't mean nor imply having an affair. It hasn't happened yet therefore that person is just being gay for the moment and hasn't done anything

Besides that, I was lumping all religions together since most have similar policies on being homosexual. It's easier to address them all at once.
