Honestly, until the Criminal video....I was nearly done with Britney.
For the Blackout era -- I understood that she wasn't in the right place, so I excused her lack of promotion and fan interaction. For the Circus era, I thought she was officially back after two excellent videos -- Womanizer and Circus, but her dancing and performances were still subpar on top of little promotion and fan interaction. I also felt like she took a step back musically.
I really thought Femme Fatale was going to be her return to form because that's how her team marketed this era. You can't sit here and have stuff like "the bitch is back" and "kiss my Louisiana ass" -- then sit here and censor every interview she is in. Britney just seemed un-interested, un-involved and worst of all -- un-aware.

Britney and her team completely killed the hottest song of the year with zero promotion when it mattered, and I sat back as I watched other (basic) pop artists easily run circles around Britney while she went fishing the week before her CD dropped.
If Britney didn't have the passion to promote her work correctly, then why should I waste my time defending her around the internet and supporting her work?
I was really on the verge of cutting all ties from her.
I still love Britney and she is apart of many of our childhood's, so no matter how much you try and deny it....we'll always have a soft spot for her and her antics, however...there DOES need to be all around improvement, because I don't stan for her as hard as I use to.

I think I agree with all of this and I'm happy you're so honest.
Her Femme Fatale era had everything in the book, to be her strongest era. Everywhere radio staton/club/bar I went, I heard Britney, it was pretty much her BOMT era all over again.... except there was no promotion, no effort, and most of all no drive.
Her latest video has resparked interest within me for a driven Britney, but deep inside I know that will never materialize.
I think ultimately, I'm happy she's in a better place. She's a mom, she's happy with her partner and she's much happier with where she is in life than where she was 5 years ago. So that makes me happy. I still however wish she was into it for the music/entertainment.
