I don't so much believe conspiracy theories, but I highly doubt we're ever told the full story and I'm sure there's some pretty damn scandalous cover ups.
RE: the "illuminati", the organisations that meet and deal behind closed doors to control the world are the governments and corporations. Not a centuries old secret society of scientists, philosophers and academics who wanted to combat the Catholic church, who then got demonised in return as a satan worshiping cult with evil intent. Think about it logically. If we mere mortals know about this supposed secret society and their intent of a new world order, then they're not much of a secret society, and if we're not currently in this new world order (in which case - what's the big deal?) - what are they waiting for exactly?
It makes infinitely more sense that the world is simply driven by money and power, and there are a relative few who ensure the rich get richer, and the poor stay poor so they can continue comfortably with the current world order*. Oil is a HUGE factor in this as it's so integral to modern society and brings unfathomable wealth to those with a monopoly on it. Now THAT is something worth conspiring wars over, interfering politically with, bribing, threatening and generally manipulating. It's why we're not investing as much as we should in alternative energy (which you can't monopolise/profit from as much like solar/wave/wind) and there's even a debate over the fact of global warming/carbon damage.
It's happening quite obviously in front of our faces. It's not a secret cult getting popstars to put triangles in their music videos.
*Religion plays a big part in this too. We hold society back and are taught to reject change. You're poor and that's ok, because God loves you. Your country is crippled by poverty and illness, but there's a heaven so just stick it out until then. Your women want to be treated equally and have the same opportunities, but that would change things and change may not be in our favour - so best for you girls to stay home having babies. You could use contraception to prevent deadly disease being almost a certainty and slowing population growth - but we need you to stay poor and lowly. The big one: Yes we could scrap your debt and financially help you, but then you may become competition and rise beyond your 3rd world status which could cause problems for us - so, no dice. You have people being effectively commanded to vote for a particular political figure or party due to religious affiliation, which means the government bodies are typically easy to manipulate and dictate. It's been pretty damn easy to convince people to go to war over oil and what not because of their political support.
There are so many convincing videos, and a lot of it makes sense. It just makes no sense to me how people write of some of this stuff as fake 
. also it just so happens newtown connecticut is the satanist capital of america or something sooo 
Either it's fake or it's real.
