Americano is enjoyable if you take its campiness and corny-ness for what it is but The Queen is a cheesy tacky dated 80s mess that should be deleted off the face of the earth.

I am wind and hurricane
The stormy sky and rain
When you run dry I'll flood your pain
Starry night come inside me like never before
Don't forget me when I come crying to heaven's door
I will fly on a challenger across the sky
Like a phoenix so you can remind them of the dream I bore
Okay and? And every Anti review mentions her botched release strategy and how despite that it delivered an ~eclectic it is and much of an "#unapologetic #badgal #*****yourfaves bad bitch she is. Reviews are formulaic. Beyoncé's just happen to be more favorable since the music is better.
How to write a Lemonade review from a brainwashed critic:
1. Write one paragraph about the release strategy and how it's new and innovative. Include dramatic, loosely utilized words like revolutionize and visionary.
2. Continue with a paragraph about how Lemonade is socially relevant. preferably include words and phrases that sound socially aware such as "black womanhood" and embellish them with platitudes about how needed such records are
3. Talk about how the album is accompanied by a movie. Do not try to hide the fact that you value quantity over quality. You do not have to sound like you've actually seen the movie. No one has.
4. Conclude your review with one line actually mentioning the album. Mention how it is diverse but you don't have to actually describe the music. It is not important.
Agreed on 3. The movie is stupid and brings nothing new. People only praised it because it's the first visual album to carry a story. I tried to finish it twice but always stopped after Hold Up coz it doesn't really make any sense and seems forced af (I skipped forward to other videos).
I am inclined to say the music on Lemonade is objectively worse than the music on Anti. The latter just feels more organic. You don't just say "sadness" and then recite a poem and sing a song about it. This isn't 6th grade, lol.
You can't review an album and not mention the context and circumstances around it because they matter. Had those not existed the album wouldn't be the way it is. Hence why every Lemonade review mentioned the movie, because it was a complement to the music.
There isn't much to Rihanna's persona other than her tryhard #badgal aesthetic hence why Anti fell flat with critics since none takes ~real musique ~troubled artiste bullsh*t from her seriously. She's just not that kind of artist. And ultimately she delivered a bland easily forgettable album.
