No, keep it open. Controversial discussions are educational for all, entertaining and interesting to read, and provoke activity.
Plus if you're tired just leave the thread

It's gonna get closed, it's basically a race wank thread that is offensive to many members.

How is it offensive? That's what people are discussing - whether the use is offensive or not. The thread itself isn't offensive, but some of the responses are provoking racist responses which are being discussed to as if they're actually as racist as society and some members proclaim they are. I'm personally enjoying and educating myself from some of the stuff members have said and linked here.

since were here, can anyone give me an answer to this? I have no particular desire to use the word but I would like to know if it would be 'acceptable' for me to do so?
I have a half black father and a white mother, so I am only 1/4 black. I identify as mixed race because thats the label I feel most comfortable with, but seeing as how I'm 'mostly' white, and can generally pass as white too, is it okay for me to use the word the way black people do, in casual conversation?

and black people can get offended when black people use it, I've seen this happen, and no I'm not just saying this it's obvious some if not a good majority of black people don't like the word used no matter who says it.
|
So because a website is associated with the movement for equality among the sexes...it isn't credible. I don't even need to discuss anything that remotely has to do with oppression with you based on that alone
Did I ever say there weren;t black people that didn't want the word to be used?
What I do know is that there is even more that don't want to experience seeing a white person use it. Seethe.

She said to a white person so it's a bit easier to forgive. She was obviously just trying to be hip n happening, probably influenced by all the black dancers she's been exposed to all her life who no doubt use the word and encourage her to do it too (if only to seem like they're cooler/make her like them more because she's ****ing Madonna and they want to seem cool in her eyes). If she had called David or Mercy the n word

Someone please answer this, I want to see some discussion over it.
Also what if you're a white child born into two black parents by means of recessive genes?

At the end of the day, if Kanye West uses the N word in his song, I'm gonna sing it. If my friends think I am being racist jamming to that song while I'm not even thinking about race, then blame the black artist for putting it out for the world to hear and sing along.
The fact that I'm even listening to a black artist should be an indication that I have nothing against them, but whatever.

Anyone who types Seethe I shouldn't respond to, but I will.
First of all .COM second of all, its a liberal bias site dedicated to hating on men and making women feel like they're god precious creatures. You can TRY to deny it, but you wont find any proof I'm wrong. And no, I don't hate feminism, I hate third wave sjw feminism. I love Christina Sommers, the factual feminist.

I think it would be messy if someone confronted your use of the word and you ended up having to say "Im 1/4 black!"
So idk tbh

Please tell me how a white rapper saying the n word is the equivalent to a black person saying it.
Please tell me what song Beyoncé said the n word.
Are you white?

Just don't. Why bother? It shouldn't be too difficult not to...unless of course you are indeed racist.

Ok because he used the n word in a racist way. It wasn't like he's my n****, he was like I don't want any n**** s at my game.

Tf lol? You act like that makes the actual information any less viable. I've read the article as have many others. The website could be bullsh*t.com and could still have good points on a certain subject. And you act as if you know the author personally.
http://everydayfeminism.com/author/jamieutt/
None of his articles are "hating on men". They're trying to help men communicate with women better.
And you still haven't explained why you didn't read the second article I linked.
