Unless you didn't know Britney still releases albums! So as long as this happens and Gaga does too, they're classed as peers and this comparison between their relatively contemporary work isn't so unwarranted.

Well the OP is trying to compare 2 completely different albums so I don't see the problem. You can't just compare albums from different times and situations. TFM was at Gaga's peak. BJ was not promoted, it's an 8th album, released after Britneys peak.

Meanwhile FF has still sold more than ARTPOP.

Overall the question in the OP is pointless and can be twisted either way.
Lets just enjoy both artists successes.
