But she's not, though, and touring receipts prove that. How can you say more people like Katy when more people are going to Gaga's tour, or when more people have bought her records than Katy's records? Gaga would win because this time will forever be connected to the gay rights movement (at least for America) and Gaga's name is synonmous with that and LGBT support.
There's this really weird misconception that if you go #1, people like you more than others, and that's just not true. The people of the GP who buy songs don't give a **** about who you are or what you do, they just buy your song and move on. In order for someone to be a defining popstar, people have to care about who you are and pay attention to you, and you can't deny that more people pay attention to Gaga than Katy.
Also Kats, Madonna is the voice for her generation. We're talking about the voice of our generation.
