Not the bitter gerls using this thread to project their anger and insecurities about their fave towards Bey.
Bey is still Bey. She evolved artistically and grown as a person. She was smart to switch her music interest, to building legacy. Achievements that actually have impacts and longevity. While perfecting her craft and nourish that God given talent. Which is why she's slaying her Stadium tour effortlessly. The gurls(undercover haters), claiming to miss the old Bey, are just simply pressed by the fact, Bey is in whole entire league to herself. True Beyonce fans accept her artistic growth. She doesn't have to pull desperate stunts and ***** herself to media for attention. The media simply acknowledge Bey's greatness without her even giving them access. Almost 20 years later, she's still impactful, relevant and successful. A very few have those elements working in their favour.
I do find it intriguing that people dislike Beyoncé for taking her celebrity back to how it used to be in the early days of celebrities, before social media and paparazzi etc. You never knew anything about celebrity's personal lives, you knew about their work and their art. That's all Beyoncé is doing right now, shutting the media back out and controlling how she wants to show her life.
I don't have a problem with that, some of my faves don't share anything about their personal lives either, but still seem more "human" to me. They still show their personalities in many ways. For some reason, I can't really connect with Beyoncé's work, because I don't see the person behind it. What we get are perfectly polished and calculated records, and she leaves it at that. She doesn't let us look into the working process, she doesn't give interviews, and doesn't make me feel it in her work either, because even at her most vulnerable, she's holding on to this perfectly crafted image and sound. You might argue that she lets the music "speak for itself", but at the same time she obviously heavily relies on her name and still wants to maintain that perfect image to sell it. She distances herself from us so much that even the most personal lyrics fail to convey her feelings to me - I don't feel them in the music, in the image, the visuals, in her as a person.
Also, let me just emphasize, that this just my opinion and my personal feelings. I do enjoy her music, and objectively speaking it is indeed very good. However, these are the things which make me just "like" her and not stan for her. Her previous works definitely explored more sides of her, and I do miss that. Maybe she feels more comfortable this way, idk.
Yeah but Madonna isn't being sinister and isn't trying for a perfect image, especially one not natural to her. She's real, while Beyoncé conceals her personality and everything she does is about being loved and adored, almost all of her political statements are empty and banal, and that's the issue some people have with her. Every statement she makes is just pandering to social media.
she doesn't "conceal" her personality...she just doesn't act like a dumbass every time cameras are around like other celebrities...and she doesn't give two ****s about giving interviews that pry into her personal life...she lets her art speak for itself...the way it should be.

She released a series of videos showing the behind the scenes of her last album though. I'm not going to argue with you, because you're entitled your opinion but I personally see plenty of her personality in her most recent albums and love the times we do see behind the scenes stuff. I'm not bothered about interviews because all they are there for is to promote the artist and the project. She's big enough nowadays that it's just being promoted on its own. I prefer enjoying her music and performances.
When Beyoncé was everywhere 24/7, y'all wanted her to sit down and "go have some babies". She was all kinds of "fake and robotic" when she was younger now you say she was "more human". You say she cares way more about her celeb status now than she did then. How is that when you barely see her around anymore??!! The last time I saw a ton of papped photos of her was when Blue first came into the world. She's not on social media much, she doesn't get into stupid beefs for publicity... I mean what?? Of course, there are calculated moves. You have to be to own your celebrity and not be exploited.
For the past 3 years Beyoncé has been mostly focused on HER MUSIC and HER TOURS and for some odd reason, that bothers the **** out of her haters and some "stans" alike. Was her career and success supposed to just STOP because she slowed down her promotional machine? Were people just supposed to STOP paying attention because she's not in the top40 every day? Is SHE supposed to STOP doing what she loves to do for a living because y'all are tired of the hype that others are doing for her?
This woman, like many before and during her time, is a pop icon. Her every move is going to be followed, talked about, analyzed, etc. as she is at the zenith of her cultural impact. I think this is why she scaled back her promotional machine because it would be real overexposure had she not. She can't help that she's at permanent A List status now. As Dave Chapelle said, you can become infamous but you cannot become UNfamous once you've been elevated to such heights. It's a double edged sword.
Yeah I kinda do. Still love her though. I hateeeeeeee when media puts artists on a pedestal and treats them like Gods. Celebrity culture is so funny (i know im on atrl, ironic) but they overrate and overexpose her to hell. They did the same with Taylor during 1989 and Bieber in the very beginning. Everything she does is worshiped. And dont get me wrong Bey is a fantastic artist and she deserves all the praise, the female MJ and all that. But its very corny for media to do it. I think her music before self-titled was better too.
. She doesn't let us look into the working process, she doesn't give interviews,
.
That can only be said of this era, and I feel you in this complaint. The rest, I disagree with but it is your opinion.
I don't need Bey posting nonstop on social media. I don't need her on late night talk shows, giving interviews in every mag, etc. I would appreciate the rare glimpse into what went on to make Lemonade. And I don't think that's asking much.
I'm stuck between being annoyed by this lack of communication and understanding/respecting it. In the end, her ONLY job is to release great music and put on a great show. She does this. Should I expect more?
Umm, hell yeah. Because she's spent a good 90% of her career giving us more.
I feel like she doesn't use her star power to its fullest potiential, but I also feel she knows of her power and that's why she is so private outside of her music. She knows her name alone will sell - she doesn't need interviews or constant use of social media or to perform at every awards show.
Bey has to be a mess and her relationship in peril for her to be considered real. However, when discussing her relationship through music, people call it gimmicky.
Only the hot messes can't relate to Bey. And that is not a bad thing.
Those lyrics are super impersonal though, they're written by other people and then she puts her own spin on it. We know nothing about Beyoncé.
Saying we know about her through her music is like we saying know who an actress is by what she says in a film...not quite.

Yes. When is the last time she did a live interview not pre-recorded to perfection? She puts out music and goes on tour which is fine but must suck for her stans who want some interaction and cute moments.

In that sense you know nothing about the majority of artists, at least Beyoncé is heavily involved in the creation of her music. She makes them personal to her, even if they were written by other people.
That's all there is to say. She's the most driven artist of her generation, there's a reason a saying like "You have as many hours in the day as Beyonce" exists and is popular among the GP.

Ya, when she said “god complex” “young homie” and rapped about him in Hold Up, that could have been compared to ANYONE who also calls himself Hova and Young Homie.
Your analogy also lacks logic. An actress in a film is not directing, writing and overseeing anyone else also writing for the film so that the result is what she wants to say.
I love Rihanna and Britney, like Gaga and Xtina.
That has nothing to do with the nature of the thread though? Stay on topic.
Even when people like Madonna, Britney and Gaga were at their peaks (which were monumental and much higher than where Beyoncé is now) they didn't act stuck up, still gave interviews, didn't mouth off telling the other "bitches" to "bow down"
Beyoncé needs a slice of the humble pie, bringing up Rihanna, Gaga or whoever else won't change that.
The new Beyoncé wants to ban the word "bossy" because it's sexist but has a song with these lyrics:
I know when you were little girls
You dreamt of being in my world
Don’t forget it, don’t forget it
Respect that, bow down bitches
One of the many reasons I don't like her anymore.
fff please, DONT try it when you sit there and duck behind girls bigger than gaga to drag katy all day in SYG next week it'll be a new mask
either way, YOUR FUMES and YOUR skewed perception thanks to the media acknowledging her talent, success, beauty, longevity, etc. is nothing like what literally every single person who meets her says about her. all your complaints are personal fumes. the biggest kiii is that the real woman you stan for is actually guilty of all these things youre accusing bey of

Used as interludes between tracks, the artfully shot films cast B and J as a modern day Bonnie and Clyde, combining elements of French New Wave, Kill Bill and Sam Peckinpah's The Getaway. Throughout the narrative, we're reminded that "This Is Not Real Life," a theme that comes full circle during the grand finale.

Closing out with a medley of "Young Forever" and "Halo," the large video screen ceased showing the violent short films and instead devoted the screen time to personal home movies of the Carters with their daughter, Blue Ivy. Jay and Bey had their eyes glued on the screen throughout, watching their family life and soaking up every moment.
In a post-elevator world, it's refreshing to see these two genuinely enjoying their time together on stage. When the Blue Ivy video concluded, the audience was greeted with the message "This Is Real Life," a moving juxtaposition to the gangster fantasies of the past 150 minutes.
She literally has to spell it out and people still don't understand.

But millions do? So I don't understand what that has to do with it. I don't relate to a lot of other bands. Doesn't mean I don't recognize their humanness.

Her previous work mostly gave us Beyonce the megawatt pop star. Her recent work has let us into her head regarded social issues and personal conflicts. It's very much the opposite of what you're saying. Which is fine, people can be uninformed, but I just hope you'd be gracious enough to admit it when the evidence is in front of you.
Beyonce being "perfect" is literally just who she is. A shy girl with a big stage persona. And maybe that combination gives her the success she has without a lot of the outrageous antics like dragging fans on twitter or beefing with other females.
I don't understand how that makes her fake or unrelatable. Many people in the world keep their heads down and work hard and lead private personal lives. It's actually one of the most relatable things about her.
