She tried to get the song removed from the album, but the label wouldn't let her as it was already sent out to be made. Then when they tried to release it as a single she fought hard against it, but lost again.

It was more a professional dispute than anything against him as a person.

Good thing too because two (maybe more) of the disputes she lost to are why she still has a career.

Not at all.

Already Gone was a moderate hit at best, so it's not like it saved her career, so her losing that dispute did nothing.

She could have easily got another hit on AIEW, there's other commercial pop songs on it not by Luke. So that didn't save her career.

The only reason she fought for Already Gone to not be a single is because it sounds a lot like Halo and she didn't want the comparisons to overshadow the song. Yeah, she lost, but there are many other songs on All I Ever Wanted that are single material.

Since U Been Gone was a bubblegum pop record (have you heard the Robyn demo?). If she didn't fight to change it up and make it the way it is now, it wouldn't get the much deserved critical acclaim and commercial success it had.

Her label didn't want Because of You on her record (Clive said Kelly is a ****** writer) and refused to make it a single. Kelly needed to fight for it to be released, even cried, and it became her most global hit to this date.

So I don't know what disputes you are talking about.

Best joke ever. When was the last time Idol pushed a song to the top of the iTunes chart? Season 7? Idol hasn't done their guest performers any favor in the past five or so seasons. Kelly graciously guest judged and performed because she is thankful for Idol for giving her the start her career needed. It's just fortunate that Kelly wrote a song that a lot of people unfortunately relate to, and went to buy it and the whole album. Why you're spinning it like this is beyond pitiful.

That's kind of beside the point though. I agree that they don't sound as much alike as a lot of other songs out there, but people were already talking about how they sounded so similar. And people who don't know better will just say Kelly copied since hers was released after.
