10K post dedication to all the Pokémonsters (well not all, but most hihi). The best people on ATRL. The last few years have been fun, messy, hilarious, bizarre, annoying and so much more. I love you very much. Here's to more dragging, messiness and flopping on Showdown .
Also Gen I remains the BEST don't @ me .

And now you're literally just changing your story from "they didn't even improve thing x" to "they didn't include thing x that wasn't in the game at all but was in the third version, like they did in one other pair of remakes." Sure, that could have been your argument from the start, but it wasn't.
HGSS added a new map area. Um, well, so did ORAS in all the Mirage spots, the complete redesign of important locations (which I mentioned earlier), etc. ORAS also gave us new features that played a massive part in the game, like the DexNav (as the most glaringly obvious example). If you want to talk about fixing the map like Kanto, you could talk about them shortening the water routes everyone bitches about so much for RSE, though I really didn't like them shortening those routes.
Like, I understand and respect that you can simply have the opinion that ORAS wasn't good, but none of your reasoning supports the claim that it wasn't good. There are plenty of signs of significant improvement, innovation, and good gameplay. I just feel like you're simply not satisfied with what we got, not that we didn't get anything.

My argument was always that ORAS was a quick and cheap remake as compared to the other two, how have I changed it by putting points of what ORAS did and didn't do? Comparing it to HG/SS and all it did is only natural because it's another remake. Seeing the amount they put into HG/SS and the little they did with ORAS is reasonable to judge a game by?
Including things that were not in the original titles is an improvement. And you know what some people enjoyed the part of the game where you actually catch a legendary Pokemon and it isn't handed to you like a starter mid-way through the game. The blatant ways to make the game simpler is so jarring. You even said it yourself, they shortened the water routes down.
They even took away berry mixing. BERRY MIXING. Sure the DexNav was cute and probably the best thing about it + soaring. There was more harm then good done with ORAS. You can go back and forth with it and post what small details it did but it is that. There's nothing about what we got that I didn't like about it, it's that it all felt cheap and rushed. How are you not understanding that? It was a dumbed down version of the originals with extra dialogue and a new coat of paint.

I actually want to replay BW but then I look at the pokémon selection and I'm like "none of these"
The early game selection in those games is dire iirc.

Your first whole paragraph is missing the point that you changed it from whether they improved something in the original to whether they included things from the third version.
They did include new things. They did improve old things.
If this is coming down to the highly subjective "it felt cheap and rushed," all I can tell you is that none of it felt cheap or rushed to me or to many other players.
Y'all exaggerate the "blatant ways to make the game simpler" and how "dumbed down" it is when 99% of the gameplay is, as it was then, standard Pokemon with the typical revamps for the new generation. I don't see it at all.

I hope the new pokemon are well designed this time around.
The last time we got well designed new pokemon was gen 3. I get they're running out of ideas but come on...

We should totally start together now that I'm done with Drag Race. You can always cheat to get pokemon in emulators

idk you usually have a bit more choice before Gym 1, in Unova it's the dog, the cat or the gopher with a headache
I mean Blitzle is right there on Route 3, but they block you before you get that badge I think.

really? I thought it was so varied.
I don't play competitively, so Idc about whether my Pokemon are balanced/going to slay the elites. I think it's cheap to almost always come across Pokemon like Hydreigon, Garchomp, Blissey, Skarmory, Lucario...I am sticking to my own guns and these are Alomomola, Mantine, Victreebel, Delcatty, and other underrated Pops like these. I like having my teams full of favourites like Corsola and Beautifly. Dc a/t Crobat and Dragonite. I find that these Pokemon have acquired a kind of "feeling." So many of them are distasteful to me now because they are overbearing. So many people use them. & they leave Pokemon like Vileplume, Cherrim, and Illumise out of the picture. It's cheap and ruins the point of having a variety of Pokemon. What's the point in having a team of overpowered, overused, & imperial Pops? I dont like it.
I like to stick to my favs b/c they "deescalate" what Pokemon has become. Not sure I like the politics behind Pokemon nowdays. I think this has to do with the pandering to casual players. For me this is also seen in what the games have become. Not sure I like the turn the series has been adopting since B/W. The graphics and aesthetics have improved. But when I pay attention to how the games were produced in, say, 2003, I can easily spot differences that unsettle me about Pokemon. As a player who has been w/ Pokemon since 1990s, I can tell (through sensing) that a turn has shifted Pokemon.
Again this may be pandering to casual players/casuality. But I am confused, because I like seeing new things pop in Coro Coro. I don't think I like the explosion of Pokemon on mass media like Direct and other sites like these. I'm kinda old school, but I like the communality that Pokemon reflected 1996-2006 (and also 2006-2012, we may argue). I'm not nostalgic, as I don't believe the past to be "fixed" and essential in terms of roots and authenticity. I suppose I am just baffled/mixed in regards to this "shift" that I, as a Poke Fan, has been witnessing.
I suppose the Pokepowers can halt this shift by reviewing the critiques of their doings. I hope S/M change my feelings, but again I don't think I'm expecting too much radical stuff from these games......

ORAS had the best story from all the Pokemon games IMO, and the delta episode was cute. It felt like a side quest. Why don't they just add plenty of story filled optional side quest. That way some girls can enjoy just beating 3 Pokemon teamed gyms and exploring the region and some girls can enjoy reading epilogues on their 3DS screen

IMO despite the low number, Kalos had some of the best designs of all 721. Pyroar, Noivern, Avalugg, Phantump, Pumpkaboo and Tyrunt/Tyrantrum are some of the best designed and my favorites in quite a while.

If we're gonna do it, it better not be damn Black & White. I never want to go through those again.
