YAS @ ***Flawless being the first song to get that Critical Acclaim
How long until we do Kimbra's The Golden Echo?

I agree with the Top Critics thing. It would be good to differentiate between members who consistently put in the effort to give insightful reviews and those who run in here just for the sake of scoring their faves high, and are never seen again.

Eh, no one needs that gas.
It's fine, if you ask me. More mods should just participate, that's all.

I trust all the mods, if they go thru with this, will have a legitimate way of determining who joins the "Top Critics" circle.
I just hope they don't do it based on something like "users who give a variety of scores based on whatever scale they use" because I use the 10 scale and I literally don't see the point of giving a song anything lower than a 6/10 (a failing grade) UNLESS it truly is lacking in songwriting, production, singing/rapping, etc like I felt "Chasing the Sun" was. I doubt I'll be handing out more 1/10s though.
And I won't be handing out perfect scores either for just anyone like I did with "***Flawless". It is one of those tracks that I felt was extraordinary in a number of different ways thus I felt it deserved that perfect score. Maybe later I'll regret my score and wish I gave it something slightly lower, but in that moment... It felt like a 10. Just like in that moment "0 - 100 / The Catch Up" felt like a 7/10, but listening to it now makes me wish I had given it a 6/10.
My most common score for singles as of right now is a 7 (which is an "ok" score to me) and my average score based on the seven single reviews I've done so far is a 6.9/10. And I think I do a decent job supporting my scores with my reviews.

For me I have to disagree. A 1 is a really bad song, like CTS. A 3.5 or so is bad but not horrific. A 5 is ok, a 7 is good, and a 9 is excellent. 9's/10's usually only come around a dozen times a year.

I think many of us wrote more than "omg its catchy slay queen", including myself. Now, personally, a 0/10 is the worst possible piece of music—I'm talking Hilary's CTS, Rebecca's Friday, any song that one of the housewives has released, etc. So I mean, for a track that I thought had an "okay rap verse" that took up the full last 50%, and the whole original song that I included in my year end Top 10 comprised of 25% of the track, I personally wouldn't give still give it a 0/10. But I mean, it's really none of my business.

This is not school though. Why would 6/10 be a failing grade? That clearly dismisses a scores of 1-5 because they've been grouped as "fail". You might as well be grading on a scale of 1-5 (or ABCDF) because you'd only be using 5 numbers(or letters) anyway.
Please read that in a pleasant tone because this sounded much more harsher after I typed it than when I created the response in my head Grade the way you want,

In an effort to avoid the novelty effect, should we wait few days or a week after the song was released to review it? That might lead to decreased participation though.

friday is a better song, and the remix got a 0 for being absolutely useless. And i know some people wrote great reviews, but alot (of whom just probably recieved mass messages to come in and give the song a 10/10 so it scores high literally consists of omg its ***flawless!!! omg the elevator line is sooooo cool. Queens!!! xD

Friday being a better song in your head has nothing to do with this:

Moreover, you don't have the right to judge anyone's review. At least those reviews that you speak of have scores that actually fit the content of what they said. I thought it was flawless, I called them Queens, and the elevator line was amazing to me too. But just because I wrote a novel and someone else kept it short and simple, doesn't invalidate either review. You're in no place to criticize anyone else's review.

The thing I like the most about the song are the lyrics, some of the lines come really hard and give me chills, especially the elevator and MJ doctor lines. Nicki really did her thing on this song, the atmosphere in her verse is unbelievable, it's really dark and intimidating. The first part of her verse gives us the memorable lines and intimidating flow, while the second part gives us fast rapping that we can dance to. This song is flawless to me, there's nothing else I can say.
10/10

Why does everybody run in pressed and talk about raising standards when Beyoncé and Nicki, two black women, are winning?
Also is Pixie's album on Spotify, if so I'll give it a listen and write a review

Why does it matter if they're black?
