At least you got a reason to not like it! Although, I never liked the term "dated" because, to me, I've never seen it used correctly since most people who use the term only refer back to a ten-year span! Truly dated would be making a song that sounds like it's from the 60s today, but then we call that "vintage sound" which is also a term that I've never seen used correctly…
But I'm going off on a tangent! It's fine; I really enjoy how fun the song is! But I respect your ideals, too.
