IMO, I don't see her as a fashion icon. I've not heard of anything selling out just because Rihanna wore it, but then again I don't pay attention to that type of stuff. I only know that Bey sells out damn near everything she's spotted in because the Hive researches it. But people claim she's not a fashion icon. Whatev. Different story for a different day. Anyway, I don't see her style influencing trends. I see her dressing like Tumblr and Instagram girls...

But I'm going to be passive and just let the Navy have the fashion icon thing. Because musically, Rihanna is no one's full package. She's not influencing musical trends, she has no memorable performances, iconic moments, she doesn't have a signature style because every era she jumps on a new fashion trend. She just there to serve bops and make her record label money.

The Navy better hope like hell she can sell more then 3 million albums with R8 with all this hype they're trying to create.

The essays people write Nothing will change the fact that Rihanna has sold more albums and singles than your faves so if her album sales are mediocre what does that make their album sales? But she can be a fashion icon all day. Yes, y'all can have that. But the hype machine her team and her stans try to create isn't matching up to any of the success she's had. Nothing correlates.

She's also limited in the talent department. So...

And in terms of katy perry, she's released THREE albums, compared to seven. And how many #1s has katy gotten on her own? How many has Rihanna?

I've noticed it's the same people in this thread, repeating themselves, responding to themselves and co-signing what each wrote. If this makes you sleep better at night to keep telling yourselves all these things. . .kanye shrug. . . .when it's all said and done--Rih's still Iconic. There are some things she can change but then she'll be a cookie cutter singer like most are. I'm tired of seeing singers who try to dance--if you're not Ciara, JLo or Janet--as a dancer--I personally, don't think some others dance very well but as this thread shows--everyone has an opinion.
