All tepid lukewarm releases. none of those are iconic films.. Redbox fodder. Next.
All those (mostly) local US only hits in the beginning of her career still don't amount the WORLDWIDE power of just Whenever Wherever or Underneath your clothes. lets not even go there with HDL/WAKA GLOBAL IMPACT.
She's pretty much a US tabloid favorite. Yes she's done a lot for the industry (mostly endorsement deals, what not) but has managed to do it very meh. Especially her films.

But you stated that she had no impact and has average songs.
No critical acclaim/impact for her acting performances? Ummm.. Selena, Out Of Sight, An Unfinished Life, Shall We Dance, El Cantante say hello.
Average songs? "Waiting For Tonight", "Let's Get Loud", "Feelin So Good", "On The Floor", etc., have recieved great acclaim from music critics.
And Waka Waka's success? What about On The Floor's? And no, Jenny has had many #1's WW not just in the US. She is a GLOBAL PHENOMENON with mutiple hits and #1's In Australia, Canada, Europe, Latin America, etc. And no, most of her hits were not just in the early 00s. Control Myself, Que Hiciste, OTF, I'm Into You, Dance Again, Follow The Leader say hola.
And no she has not just known for her endorsement deals. But now to think of it Shaki's Crest Whitening commercials are cute.
But nice try though. But let's be honest Shakira is not a music legend. She's barely a household name in the states. The only ones who use ha are the Latino community who actually play her songs on Latin radio. Ya'll keep talking about Whenever Wherever but I honestly haven't heard that song in over 10 years. She has had a few maybe 2 cute English bops and that's about it. If it wasn't for Beyonce's assisted "Beautiful Liar" her career would be non existent and she's now doing the same with Rih. She's just not heard here sistrens.
