And here she goes, accepting her PCA (since when the PCA have ANY relevance BTW?)
That automatically dismisses her.
And Beyonc้ is the performer of the generation on top of being the vocalist of the same generation on top of being the dancer of the very same generation. She has it all.
The real vocalist of our generation has the confidence to sing live for the President and millions of viewers rather than mouth along to a pre-recorded track. She also isn't intimidated by the cold weather.
Let us praise Kelly Clarkson. The one who displayed her incredible vocal skill on the Grammy's and had others in her own industry calling her the greatest singer on the planet. The one who some said even out-sang Aretha twice in one month.
Bey is great, don't get me wrong. But she doesn't hold a candle to Kelly and I wouldn't even put her in the top 3.
I think Kelly is a great vocalist too, but what I think she's lacking is the impact and influence that the "vocalist of our generation" has to have. It's not just the vocals, it's the person who also speaks to a generation, who inspires and is looked up to. They have to be an icon of singing, not just a great singer.
For example, Mariah, Whitney and Celine in the 90s were all amazing singers, but they also had that star quality spark and that something that made them truly special.

Aretha, in her prime, could sing circles around everybody. Not only does she have a ridiculous range (Kelly can't touch), but she was incredible creative, even as a singer. Kelly has been using the same melisma since 2001. Kelly doesn't even have all of Bey's abilities, let alone Aretha's.
Just to clarify. Belting high notes =/ better vocalist. Belting high notes with absolute dynamic control (like crescendos or diminuendos), or doing arpeggios leading to a connected High C, now that's what i'm talking about.
I know Kelly is better than most pop singers, but she is not better than Beyonce. They have different strengths and weaknesses, but Beyonce has more strengths.

Beyonce's runs are impeccable kelly could never beyonce can run to chest voice then to head effortlessly no one can touch her
Right now....? ADELE is. I'm not even a fan. Beyonce has the skills but her underwhelming SB performance made her far from an entertainer to me.
Well, aren't you one of the few who thought that.

Her vocals have never blown me away. She possesses a very thin, shrill voice that lacks depth, power and emotion. Her singing has never once moved me -- and I've seen her live several times, including front row at the Barclays Center.
From a 100% objective standpoint, the only weakness of Bey (in comparison to say Kelly) is her belts. Bey can belt, but not as high and powerful as Kelly. On the other hand, Bey can do such a wide range of technically difficult things I've never heard Kelly do. They're both outstanding but Bey is the better vocalist

The lies.. Her voice is full bodied and resonant all throughout. Resonance is power so she's not lacking in that area. Emotion is subjective where as vocal technique.. not so much. To me she has great conviction when she sings and she has definitely come leaps and bounds since DC.
