Yup. I think the same thing happened with Snoop Doggs "I really wish you all could be California Girls" Link. which only resulted in them removing the line from the album version, as far as I know, but it shows Matt has a case.

Also; Diana Vickers vs Red Hot Chili Peppers, but that was the accidental ripoff of the entire chorus melody rather than 1 line.

That doesn't mean she listened to all of his songs though. I'm not saying she didn't listen to it but who knows.

In Taylor's new song on Red, "The Lucky One" she says "like diamonds in the sky". That is also said in Rihanna's new song. Obviously neither of them stole it because they were both just released. The line Taylor "stole" from Matt is obviously more complex but the same thing could've happened.

We don't know the truth, the best is to just stay out of it and not make assumptions.

The lines are just too similar to be a coincidence. And Matt should not be receiving any flack at all for what is happening. Artists need to make their own work, not resort to stealing someone else's if they can't come up with their own (I'm not accusing her of this) or whatever the reasons are.

It's only one sentence, in all of the song's written something is going to happen like this sooner or later. It's really not that big of a deal.

I doubt Taylor would blatantly steal lyrics of some she's a fan of, maybe he's taking badly because he wasn't credited.

And I haven't heard "Come On Get Higher" in long time. Such a great song. My favorite AC release of 2008.
