But where am I defending Rihanna? The only thing I said was that all popstars are manufactured to some degree. I never defended Ri for not being that. I know she is. I actually appreciate her for changing up her image. Isn't that artistic in itself? This can go two ways, but I think Rihanna plays a role each of her eras and her image during that era is a physical display that she's trying to set as the tone. At the same time, she's openly admitted that her music is a reflection of her individual feelings as a person. The girls 23 and still evolving and shaping herself both career-wise and as a person. Her albums are like a chronology of her life. It works for her, in my personal opinion.

'Born This Way' is nothing but a production album. Other than "Scheisse", "Heavy Metal Lover" and "Goverment Hooker", the songs are embarrassing, lyric-wise. The production is even more.

I have to agree on that. "Bad Romance" is the best song she co-wrote, so far.

And that's the point I was making about making up for not writing your own songs: No one can deny that Whitney and Tina are two of the most talented females vocalists EVER.

The best example I can give is "I Will Always Love You." That song wasn't written by Whitney but everyone remembers the song as hers because she made it her own. That is something Rihanna has struggled with since her inception as a pop star (even "Umbrella" is generally knows as the Mary J. Blige song that never was).

But I agree people should not come after a singer because she doesn't write her songs, it is baseless in my opinion. But they can wonder what is her talent exactly? What is her forte?

Celine, Whitney couldn't write for **** but they could sing the hell out of a song and give chills to anybody. Tina Turner didn't write but she was a hell of a performer and a singer. But what is this girl really good at? What makes people say, hell I don't care at least she is the best in...?
