80s era had some great music, but a lot of it didn't age very well... and it's probably one of my least favorite eras.

The only thing that might get me to leave Gaga's fanbase and become a casual fan only is this next video. Terry is disgusting - on top of the fact that this video features R. Kelly - and she'd better handle this **** right because I will not support her if she pulls what it looks like Miley is about to pull with her next video. Gaga needs to watch herself this era. I don't care about its level of commercial success because I love the music - DWUW most of all - but some of the imagery and antics are not jiving with me at all. On one hand you have that god awful Marina "cleansing" video, and on one hand you have the great SNL night she gave. On one hand you have Terry ****ing Richardson of all people STILL working with her and even directing a video (), and on one hand you have and Xtina collab and the brilliant Alan Carr performance. It's like she's showing you snippets of what she could be, of what her potential is, and then tearing them out of your hands the next minute. If she makes it through DWUW without making an absolute mess of everything with the video, she should be fine, but she really needs to tread lightly with that.

@Retro I reeeaaally don't think the vid is coming out. From what we've seen of the video stills there is absolutely no reason editing/post-production should take this long. I think it's gone through more treatments and re-shoots than TEOG though.

Wouldn't surprise me if we get a video for the Xtina version instead of Kells/Rozay.

Her comments have always been very anti-pop and as if she's above the other girls. In terms of talent, she is, but to the general public she is still very much a disposable pop star who dresses weird for attention. This type of music would not convince anyone that she is more than just a pop singer.

Yes there's no issue with wanting to be a Brand or a force outside of music.

However to me she always came off as a gimmick. She is talented which is why I never understood her fixation with going over the top just for the sake of it. Her music, and antics don't really correlate with her "Anti pop" attitude and that's what annoys me about her.

If someone like Adele had Gaga's smug superiority complex then I could understand it. However like you stated she's no more of a gimmick than some of her peers, and her antics dwarf most of the talent she does have.

There is a difference between saying something because you believe it and shade an artist because you don't like the music.

I ALWAYS knew since BTW single days that Gaga was going to fade really fast. I had experience because i used to stan for Marilyn Manson, and he had a similar career, doing socking and weird stuff that got everybody talking, but then people got bored and didn't care anymore.

Gaga will be succesful, people won't forget her, but her days as one of the biggest popstas are almost gone.
