One of the devs said recently the map view is something they are working on.
Also another Dev said they had so many different ideas to do something new with the map instead of the same old (view from above etched), that the map view was actually a forced effort towards the end because they couldn't decide what they wanted.
They originally wanted a whole map like Google earth, where you could view the "world" as it were. Then they decided to do a mix of Sims 1 vs Sims 3, which looked weird (there is a video online) and then a 2d modern map which I'd basically what we had now, but it seems the devs wanted it to look better than it does now.
The head of The Sims 4 said the other day that they had lots more time to work on the Sims 3, and so the Sims 4 was being treated as a "live service" rather than typical base game. So they are still building the game.
Which is basically her "EA approved" way of saying they ran out of time to do what they wanted with the game, ea didn't want to give them more time, and now they have to keep trying to sugar-coated something that's unfinished to begin with.
When will the YouTube simmers make such an iconic house build?
