She only has five good albums: Control, Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation 1814, janet., The Velvet Rope, and All for You. The rest are disposable. The rest may as well not exist.

The rest are just decent. The only album that's bad is "Dream Street".

They may not be good as the previous chapters in the bible that she wrote, but they aren't disposable. There are some hidden gems that are better than some artists whole discography.

Y'all need to check yourselves. Damita Jo is such an underrated classic, every single song on the album (except for maybe JALW) is perfection. The album is so smooth and has such a variety of sounds without throwing you off. There are so many hidden gems on there, I'll never understand how people can just toss it aside like it's nothing. As far as I'm concerned, Damita Jo was here last great album, the 2 that followed are her disposable ones.

YES! Thank-you! The title track always gets me going and pumps me up in all the right way. All Nite is one of my favourite Janet tracks, it's one of her biggest stand outs and I'll never comprehend how it flopped as much as it did.
I love all of her albums (starting with her true debut with Control) for different reasons.
People love to say Janet's output after The Velvet Rope was "all about sex" and "not as good as her first few albums", but that's simply not true. Although it is true that her later albums contain sexual themes and lyrics, the sexuality is just one of the many themes she explores, and Janet has been doing sexual songs as far back as the janet. album. It's incredibly disingenuous for people to act like something changed around the time of All For You and Damita Jo.
The Superbowl incident didn't change the direction of Janet's music, but it didn't change how people perceived her and her music. It's a damn shame because so many people are missing out on fantastic music because of their misguided and ill-informed beliefs.
Janet and Madonna are the yin and yang of the female popstar. I personally prefer Janet, but I don't diminish Madonna for what she's done for pop music either.
So true I love them both equally from different reasons and I find it kinda funny how you can really compare their careers at some point in time
