I think MR has more potential as a single than Ayo. Just because Ayo is upbeat.....

It's the more single worthy song out of all the ones she has premiered, in my opinion. I even think that she could perform it at the Superbowl and it wouldn't be out of place. It's a weird Bruno Mars x Gaga x Rock mix and it works.

Why is no one talking about Chapter 2: John Wayne tho? I forgot where I saw that but it's interesting

This. People who didn't experience that era because they were too young or didn't care, don't realize what the reaction was when a good size of the 14-15+ million people who loved TFM Gaga first listened to some of the Born This Way songs. In retrospective BTW era feels like a success, but back then it felt like kind of an under performance and not all that iconic (it is now though, kinda).

It's a shame that some of you, who seem to declare yourselves "real fans" just because you like or pretend to like the new album, keep downvaluing people who don't like it and use terms like "gay", "twink", "bottoms" to describe them. If you were a real fan (real fans doesn't even exist, everyone who likes her and follows her is a fan, whether they only like 10 songs out of her discography, only likes The Fame or only likes Joanne) you would follow the Born This Way message. But some of you are really hollow people.
I'm not even gay and I'm ashamed to even visit a place like this. When will all of you grow the **** up.

I agree, tbh. I have to say though, I follow and support the BTW message, but I absolutely hate and despise that trash album. Does that make me a real fan? I love all of her other albums more, even C2C. And from what I've heard, I will love Joanne more too.

its not about being katy, its about where your career is currently and do you have hype from previous era etc. I mean gaga did it before Katy with TEOG

It's not a traditional pop song, though. And there are people that hate how it sounds, so keep your expectations in check. You might not like it.

Yes, and I know the GP had a similar response. BTW was too experimental for the GP and some fans. Joanne (so far) is not what I would call experimental, just a drastic change, we'll have to wait until the full album comes out to judge.

But this is a needed change since the pop climate she was in was doing. Plus she's getting older so it makes sense

Same, I like them when I hear them but I'm not obsessed with them as I've always been every time she released new material.

The point is, there's voicing out opinions and then there is being intentionally annoying, extra, disrespectful and ATTACKING those who are actually enjoying the album because they're capable of fathoming music that is much more than what's made up of those tired 2010 dance beats. Calling us sheeps/names/pretenders just because we are loving our fave's effort and evolution?
Anyway, you're one of the few monsters that isn't being extra and annoying just because you don't feel connected to the music. It must be disappointing, but thank you for not being disrespectful.
I hope so too.
|
Yeah, no one should be shaming anyone for liking or not liking the album. I respect those who are enjoying it and I actually envy you guys cause I wish I would like it so much since she's my #1 fave and I just feel disconnected.

With Born This Way she re-invented her sound and did an amazing record that sounded like no other album despite still being dance / pop / electronic, it was connected with her original sound. With Joanne I applaud she's re-inventing herself but I don't feel any connection with what made me fall in love with her.
I hope the rest of the album makes me change my mind.

It's so funny to me how the only ones who hate the album so far are the ones who months ago had a problem with me insinuating that this album might end up being not dance, more rock and ballad filled

While those who are open to various music genres, not just 'BOPTZ xDD!' are thrilled with what we've heard so far
Maturity, okie dokie!!!

4x4 + Wow + SIO wouldn't be too far off! Maybe swap Wow with MANiCURE or Ribbons?

It's not...DEFINITELY NOT an anthemic dance bop either.
I need the studio version because it sounded pretty bad live
Million reasons stays slaying me though
Sinners prayer is boring
