This is how i felt during swinefest/ARTPOP; i hated the music i was hearing and contemplated unstanning. The album came and I liked it enough, but knew it was, in my opinion, her worst work. I was so shocked and disappointed at how i felt about the music, especially since the fans were jizzing themselves over it after swinefest.
Now, 3 years later, she's releasing music that i actually really enjoy; my point is, it's not the end of the world if you don't like an artists' music, because there's always the next album.
OT: the chorus and bridge of this song are absolutely beautiful. The only thing I would change is how Hillary starts harmonizing in the first verse; that should've started that in the second verse to let the song naturally build. I also don't like how the bridge goes right back into the final chorus. There could've been a nice little guitar instrumental there, and then let the final chorus come back hard with all the extra harmonizing/vocals she does.
I just don't stan or pay much attention during the era of the stuff I'm not a huge fan of, and then check back next time they release something...and still wish them the best. I mean with Cheek to Cheek, I wasn't really a fan of that kinda stuff so I didn't really pay close attention that era but I was happy she was doing it bc I knew it was good for her. It's just weird seeing people get angry, saying "she needs to get over herself", acting like the only kind of music she should be doing is the kind they like, etc. I feel like if you're really a fan of an artist, you'd understand their evolutions and wish the best for them, no?
