I can't help to cackle at the comparisions to Flo Ridan, Carly, Rihanna, Bruno...
I don't recall ANY of them coming off an era where the had 5 #1 singles from an album, had the extensive promotion that Katy has had this era or had a huge first week sales of a lead single. I mean, WHERE did all the "fans" that bought "Roar" first week? If she had those people buy the album she'd have half a million sold first week.
Considering my prediction was 300k for PRISM and I was dragged cuz it was "too low", you Katy fans can just use every excuse in the book but it's not gonna make her first week numbers any higher.

Never did any Katy fan in that thread say this album would debut with Oops! numbers and actually mean it. Why do people on ATRL always just make stuff up?

Nobody thought it was going to sell 1M, only Little Monsters who wanted to shade her because of course that wasn't happening. And shut up, the GP is the reason why Roar sold more than 500K first week, they always here for her singles. But the GP doesn't buy an album because of one song, as soon as other hits are released from the album she will sell more just like she did with OOTB and TD.
I took the time to explain you all this because your ignorance isn't cute. But i won't do it again. Bye.

The only thing embarassing is Katy Perry fans ENDLESS list of excuses. They won't increase her sales but keep the excuses coming.

Worldwide I couldn't even begin to guess. I reserve the right to change my guess depending on how the lead singles perform.

The Truth About Love sold 280K last year about the same time. Katy is bigger than P!nk in the US, so Katy should easily pass her.

Um, I don't recall any of the Katycats hyping PRISM to sell a million in the first week. Where is that even coming from?

Katy will open with 330k, bookmark me.
And by the end of the year she will pass easily the 700k mark.

Most of those predictions were made before Roar was even out. A bit less than 300K is not bad, but I expected a bit more, considering how much bigger she got since TD's 200K (in summer) and how hard Roar smashed. Not to mention she has the biggest stations in the country playing her new tracks dozens of times per day to promote the release.

That's fine and all, but even after the massive success of Roar, the Katycats still never made absurd predictions, which is what DivaDown was trying to imply.

Predictions and hype are two separate things. When Katy Perry fans say "it will break records", that would be "hype" referring to Britney's current record for "Oops!... I Did It Again".

I think it could be possible, though. Katy came off of one of the biggest eras in recent pop history, so maybe people will actually buy this album to see what she has to deliver this time.
I am going to say....not likely, but I wouldn't be all too surprised if she did.

I still believe she could do 1 million or something like that first week with all this single success.

Please enjoy a cup...
EDIT: I realized a lot of PRISM threads have been closed when going thru my history of the threads I've posted in lol

at you quoting a bunch of non Katycats, clearly voiding your argument.
