Alejandroguyrice, that is exactly what I was getting at! I wasn't talking about artists vocal abilitys and talents, I was talking about their appeal, if you a big artist, it means you have more of an appeal, which is why I used Raven as an example because I know you're farmiliar with her, as you're fan. An by that I mean Raven doesn't have a big appeal obviously, because she isn't a big artist, which you know yourself cus you just said that! Still I don't know how Leona came into this

How does it matter if Leona had Simon Cowell's backing anyway? He signs artists, it's his job to spot talent and obviously he does a good job at it and the whole Oprah thing is silly, Leona was top ten in the US before she appeared and already #1 on iTunes , Oprah obviously helped her get her music out to a larger audience, it's called promotion 
And you say Santogold, Algebra Blessett, Adriana Evans and Teedra Moses can outshine Leona, that's your opinion, so don't say it like it is fact :-\ because in my opinion Leona outshines the hell out of them, because in my opinion she has a bigger appeal which equals her being a bigger artist |
I never once stated those artists named were capable of outshining Leona  read my post more clearly. I am stating the fact the she is just about the only X-Factor contestant to be puppetted around America by Simon or given a large international push. Do you see Shayne Ward or Leon Jackson in the same regard as Leona? NO, and that is a fact. Once again you think I am bashing Leona when I am in fact stating truth. Leona is hugely talented but she does come a bit boring I like about 1/3 to a half of her record. I am saying there are artists that do alot more for their craft, such as creating a edgy concept/image, create/write material tied to that image and try like hell to be where she is. She has the backing some other artists themselves deserve as well. Not more or less, just as much as Leona does. She's hugely talented but there are many artists that are just as deserving is what I am saying. Don't take offense because I am being less than stannish toward you idol.

And I never said vocal ability makes good songs, I said it helps, which it obviously does
It's like take Mariah Carey's 'Vision Of Love' for example, an amazing song and Mariah sings it amazingly because has vocal ability and talent, whereas I've heard cover versions and they sound DREADFUL, because the people covering them do not have vocal ability or talent, therefore I think having vocal ability and talent does help a songs quality :-\

WTH, seriously why is this conversation about Leona as a person, her records or her talents? I never even bought those things into this, I was talking about how a bigger appeal translates into being a bigger artist, which some people obviously don't understand
Yes Shayne Ward and Leon Jackson aren't being puppetted around the US by Simon, for reasons which I don't know? Reasons only Simon knows? My opinion is that Simon obviously thinks Leona has a bigger appeal, so he has invested so much in her career. But then again that is only my opinion, but an opinion maybe the majority hold, when you compare the sales of Shayne's and Leona's records in the UK, where they have both come from the X-Factor.

i love music videos
and i dont want this art form to die
there was sooo many great music video directors that no longer direct them anymore
people should be honored for their work
its not about winning an award on how popular your song is, it should be about the content, creativity, and greatness of the video

1st we didn't cheat and belive me that now ANY Avril Lavigne fan is viewing the GF video because is at the TOP ok is the most watched YOUTUBE video of all time, if the video still having a lot of views it's beacuse of regular people around the world is watching the video but not fans not any more.

All those were first singles, and were promoted. Get over yourself.
It was #18 on Billboard. Pretty good for a second single from an artist who was never loved on Radio. No wonder people don't take you seriously.
