This is no groundbreaking album that's worthy of being considered when you think about Kylie Minogue's discography. There really aren't much highlights and the album plays it safe for the most part. So why is it so high then? I just really happen to love the flow of the album. Even though it's nothing mindblowing, they're still pretty good, well produced pop tunes. Listening to the album is a joyous pop experience, who's only fatal flaw is that duet with Enrique.

This album is heartbreaking. Sam writes for a perspective that I'm sure many of us have experienced, which is mostly about unrequited love. And he writes it (albeit ambiguously) from a gay man's perspective. And I'm sure you know how damn relatable that **** is. The album might be a little too soppy, but when I'm down for bawling my eyes out over a guy I can never have, this is the go to album.

Cher Lloyd
2013: Too Weird to Live, Too Rare to Die! - Panic! at the Disco
2012: Unorthodox Jukebox - Bruno Mars

Cher really blew me away with this one. Never have I thought of Cher Lloyd as more than a playful, bratty teenager who had an attitude. This album just blew all that out of the water. She really shows how much she has grown and matured and it's an amazing sight. Showing off her vocal chops, she belts out emotional and personal ballads which showcase a really intimate and vulnerable side of her. The uptempo bops are better than ever too. She fine-tuned her cheeky personality such that these songs are really enjoyable and fun, instead of being messy and annoying. I'm sad that she got done so wrong by her label as the general public won't get to appreciate these songs on the airwaves.
Best: Bind Your Love, Sirens, Human, Killin' It, Alone With Me

My ATRLcritic review - 9.0
2013: BEYONCE - Beyonce
2012: Lotus - Christina Aguilera

Once in a while, we have a soft rocker, bluesy dude who lands a huge hit (see Gotye) but fails to match up with their subsequent material. While I'm almost sure Hozier will never find a hit as big Take Me to Church (though I must say Work Song could change that), he presented to us a really stunning debut to show that he's here to create quality music. And that's all should matter. His matters are deep and dark, such as on the lead single that we all know. The uptempo stuff are brilliantly done too, perfectly creating catchy and modern rock-n-roll tunes.
Best: Take Me to Church, Bloomers & Wilson, Angel of Small Death & The Codeine Scene, Work Song, Foreigner's Godt

Under the recommendation of Anna, I gave this quirky lady a try. I was instantly hooked with Digital Witness with it's quirky and catchy hook. The album was no less of an adventure. Annie Clark doesn't beat around the bush, she doesn't hold any bars, she let's it all out into this crazy mess, yet in a good way. The music is very in-your-face, which pretty much renders you helpless and you'll just submit into this fantastical mess.
Best: Huey Newton, Digital Witness, Regret, Psycopath, Severed Crossed Fingers
