Now I have a question: this demo has the same lyrics of Carly's version, so, why is Carly credited as one of the writers if Sia did this before?

They wrote the song together; it wasn't something Sia wrote and then gave to her. It talks about how they co-wrote it in the Rolling Stone article about the song.

I was questioning the same thing a few months ago.

Because Carly wrote like 400 songs for the album (or some high number) and she probably didn't want to sing a demo version for all of them. So they had Sia sing it and put it on hold for her until they had to choose the final cut to record for the album.
Sia's demos are always great Carly's was definitely better imo, but that's the point of a demo anyway. Sia's demos usually blow the artist's version out of the water, and that's not a good thing for the artist. It's just embarrassing so props to Carly for actually improving upon it and not doing it exactly the same as Sia like everyone else does.
It's been removed from Soundcloud but I found it on YT. The demo is rough and choppy (obviously to be expected) but Sia still sounds good. Carly adds a certain pizzazz or maybe it's just because her version has been actually mixed and mastered, but I LOVE the pre-chorus in the demo.
