Mmm I do think that she's gonna ruin herself if her next era isn't as succesful as 1989 or underperforms (but she definitely won't flor). Why?
Because she's so narcissistic. She's so full of herself that the minute she notices she's losing some popularity, she and her team will do anything in their power to maintain her on top, thus bringing more artificiality and gimmicks to her brand (see Taylor squad), and finally annoying the GP.
I think this is going to be a Mariah-type situation. Mariah slayed for a full decade but then her brand tarnished and she had a mayor breakdown (of course I know Mariah was having personal problems, but it's obvious that her lack of success deeply affected her during the Glitter era).
Taylor played 1 sold out Stadium Show, won 4 VMAs and is currently at no 3 on iTunes with her album that came out more than 10 months ago and that is just this week or so. She is crumbling. LMAO.
The straw clutching is funny though.
You blindly and enthusiastically accelerating the biggest machine in music is even funnier.
Only at #3? Didn't all her previous singles shoot up and T-Nation was so into her breaking records?
The video was aired on at least 10 channels during a huge TV event where 10M+ people tuned in.
If that doesn't scream drop in interest, I don't know what does.

The video premiered on the pre-show which only had a live stream

Your jealousy of Taylor is very amusing. You must be loving the last 9 years of having bitter tears. I enjoy them very much. The fumes are most satisfying to me
She definitely comes across as one of those people who is totally genial and complimentary in person until you're out of earshot and then she'll say something like "that is the ugliest effing skirt I've ever seen."
Being superficially nice in order to keep up a wholesome image for her own monetary gain isn't really the same thing as actual niceness.
Again, you need to know her personally to know this stuff.
I literally don't understand this FIXATION on her image, and the constant attempts to prove that she's "omg fake!!"??
It's pop music. It has never been about being "real", and has always been about creating and managing an image that is bought and sold. And most importantly, always being in control of the narrative. Taylor and co. are just doing their ****ing job, very well, I might add.
I mean, 1989 is still in the top ten of the charts last I checked and Wildest Dreams has massive streams and is in the top five on iTunes. I'd love to be crumbling like her.
I think a big problem is that people want to keep their image of her as the little country girl when she isn't that anymore. It's been ten years, she's going to have changed and grown as a person and is going to behave differently.

The video was premiered on the pre-show. WD was already gold before it was released as a single and 1989 is at +5M in the US, so it peaking at #3 on iTunes is impressive.
