Coming out is like losing my virginity - whenever I can find a convenient time. I wanted to wait to lose my virginity to someone I wanna be with and means a lot to me, but as I get older I'm getting anxious.

Same dilemma applies to coming out for me, I don't know if there's a right time or moment, but I've told friends and I've hinted it to my Sister's boyfriend (who'd never tell) and a family friend - a lot of my friends know, but it's just hard.

And for some, they'll end up dead in a ditch somewhere or out on the streets homeless. Coming out is simply not a feasible option for some, that is the horrifically ugly truth.

I don't think anybody should come out until they are sure they are 100% safe. Some people never have to worry about that but for others, it's probably the only thing they think about.

My grandparents are a bit iffy... When they see a gay couple on TV they get a bit old and don't approve but I'm sure they would be fine with me. It's weird, I'm bi, so I don't know if I want to... But I've just got into my first gay relationship so I'm not sure how it's going to work out.

I'm bi so it's easier for me to be 'in the closet' and I don't feel as much of a need to come out as somebody who is fully gay might. I'm not exactly hiding it though, I'd never call myself straight but I don't go around blabbing about it. When/if I get a girlfriend then I'll officially come out I guess because I wouldn't hide any relationship I'm in. Until then I feel content just doing what I'm doing.

My mom once said "I'd stab my son if he were gay" so there's that. My whole family thinks like that, I think it's because they don't quite understand that it's not a choice or a fetish.

I first came out to my best friend about 2 and a half years ago. I've been out to everyone except my parents for about a year.

I want to tell my parents within the next few weeks but I've been planning to come out for years. My parents are absolutely fine with homosexuality and they've never held my brother or me to heteronormative standards. I know they know and they've known for years, but it's just hard for me to express my emotions and talk to them after being guarded for years. I just haven't found the right moment to talk about it I guess, but if they'd ask I'd answer honestly.

I'm out to most people. But being as I won't be out out until my dad is dead, it's pretty quiet about what I actually am. More or less the gender thing with me though. My sexuality isn't bad and wouldn't get me kicked out/hated.

I know everyone valuable in my life will be supportive and have no problem with it, plus I can sense that most people can already tell I'm gay I just don't know how to come out. All these years I've spent denying it and now I'm meant to say I am. I also know I'll get a lot of attention when I do and being such an introverted person, I'm more nervous about handling that. My heart goes out to all of you stuck in situations where you're surrounded by such close minded people Hopefully you guys can find a way to be free and enjoy your life as the person you truly are.

Last year she asked me if I was gay and I said yes.
