So many people drag their sloppy ass to class in sweats, like oh my gosh, I had to wake up at 7:30am for my class so I look like crap. I have to wake up at 6 am and drive to school a half hour... I can find 10 minutes to look like I'm not homeless.

We only had 3 minutes in between classes, and one of my classes was clear across the damn building and on a different floor then the one before it. So every damn day I'd be running to get to that class on time, but I'd never make it because first off there's over 2,000 kids at the school and when they're all in the hallways you can barely move faster then 10 steps per minute, like I wouldn't even get halfway there before the alarm would go off to say that the next class had started. So by the time I'd get down there I'd be the only one left in the halls and everyone else was already in the class and they'd all look up at me when I walked in all huffing and puffing and whatnot Such a struggle

Sounds like my old high school. We were only given 3 minutes and it was hell. A few of my classes were on the other side of the building and you basically had to sprint there.

I used to have to carry almost all of my books with me as well because I had no time to go to my locker. It was terrible.

We had the same exact rules and no one seemed to mind because they've been like that for as long as anyone could remember. It was when they made it so that we could not wear hoodies with zippers, have pants with even a small tear in it or bags that were bigger than a foot wide that people lost their ****.

I would also just like to add that if you are not enrolled at a public school, you should not have to pay taxes to fund any public schools.

One thing that happened (not really a rule) but the Chemistry II teacher made a girl cry for not turning in a paper the day it was due because she was with her dad for the weekend it was assigned while he was literally having a life or death operation on cancer in his brain.

Not allowed to charge your phone or use it in class becaus the electric bill gets too high and the server crashes,

No shoulder showing or any shirt that has smoke on it because you'll get sent home for showing too mich skin and promoting cigs

Cant open the gate without permission (they installed a gate inside the school from the main entrance to the office and its hell because the security guards can only unlock it),

not allowed to be dropped off on school grounds or you'll get fined unless your parking and leaving your car to enter the office, thats hell because of all the traffic

In my Sisters school, you have to get security escort you to the bathroom and they wait outside the stall because there was this one time where somebody rubbed poop all over the bathroom even the doors

Depends on where you go I guess. I had a bomb threat at least once a year. Having cameras in bathrooms is illegal, so sign-up sheets were the only way to see what students entered bathrooms. It's ridiculous, but how is writing your name on piece of paper for the sake of safety any burden on you? :P

They don't put cameras in the actual bathroom, just the hallways. It just seems like a waste of time. Maybe it's a larger school thing, we only have 400 people in my school.

Yeah. They barely ever give us snow days, even when the weather is insanely bad, and then they change when our breaks are so they're at different time periods than every other school (private and public) in the area. My school sucks. And they only give us 5 minutes to get to and from classes. And I can probably list about 15 staff members at the school (teachers, counselors, etc.) that cannot do their job well at all. One of the counselors at my school forgets to send out college applications every year, and therefore the students who are cursed with having her have to send them out themselves or risk not getting into the colleges they want.

We had 5 minutes to get to class. Backpacks were allowed in some classes, it depended on the teacher. I carried my backpack with me but I still kept most of my stuff in my locker so that it wouldn't be heavy. I had classes on the 3rd floor in my school, and my locker was on the first floor, ot always took the entire 5 minutes to go to my locker and then to the next class

this reminds me, our school was only allowed 4 snow days per year, and they would NEVER use all of them up. Even though we live in New York and it snows a hecka lot, at most they'd only give us 2 snow days per year but normally only one and the rest of the time, even if it was snowing like **** out, they'd still make us come in. There'd be times when we'd be practically the only school open in our district

After reading all of these I suddenly want to go to my school and kiss all the higher ups for not making up these ridiculous rules.
The only thing I don't like is a no sunglass rule. There is a crap load of windows and the students that sit by them get blinded.
Also mess at 3 minutes between classes, thought my 7 was short.

Oh @ the camera discussion. They have cameras all over my school but no one seems to notice them. My teacher last year pointed them out to me.

Some stupid things... the strictness of the uniform, although many teachers didn't really care. Shoes had to be all black. I had to colour in a white part of my shoe in black marker. No electronic devices were allowed at all, but everyone had them out at lunch. Kilts were part of the girl's uniform, and eventually got banned because girls wore them too short. It was unfair to the 9th graders that spent so much money on kilts only to barely ever wear them.
