Religion is the foundation of most nations. Most modern civilizations were formed based on religion and an integral part of them until most countries nowdays began to secularize. Just because some people are not able to understand the true spirit of religion or have misused it over the years, either because of their ignorance or because they want to use it for making political or personal capital does not mean that religions are bad. We should remember that there are bad people, belonging to different religions, to no religion or among atheists. But I'd say the good things religion has done to humanity far outweigh the bad because we're here. It is because there have been more good people, many of them inspired by the moral force of religion that our civilization has survived..
