I think we can get depth from everything. We can interpret it with anyway we can. I think that is where the problem is. Some artists paint/make something basic then leaves it for the public to judge. We don't know who's fooling who but an artist should always know the basis of their work. I'm no artist but that's my 2 cents on it.
