I wouldn't call Animal a ballad, but I do agree with you. Those are great songs. They should've released Animal instead of Blah Blah Blah, and waited a month or two. It would've smashed much more than BBB.
I do understand why they didn't release The Harold Song though, it could have flopped just like ToY.
You still need to give her time though, she's still relatively new.

I guess if we ignore the fact that, despite similar production values, the lyrics and overall atmospheres of those albums are absolutely different, I, uh, completely agree with you.

Of course the lyrics are not actually the same. But they have the same broad, general, paint-by-numbers feel. They're not bad lyrics, but they have the professional, impersonal sheen of a Hallmark card. They tell you nothing about who these girls are. You don't learn anything specific about them or their experiences - you just get a generalized idea of what it's like to be a flirty Cali gurl, to have a teenage dream, to party on Friday night, to wake up in the morning feeling drunk, to hit on a guy at a bar, to dance until the world ends, to wanna go all the way, etc. I get a greater sense of the faceless songwriters whose work runs through all these albums than I do of Ke$ha, Katy & Britney.

I think I'll wait and see when she's back next year. Something tells me she's not gonna fade away so fast...

One Of The Boys, Animal & Teenage Dream sounds alike on some aspects but they are still distinct albums.
The entirety of Femme Fatale is completely different from them production wise. Edgier and more eclectic with some throwback to oldschool Britney.
Otherwise, I agree with you except that the other girls... Well, their "artistry" is hidden behind the brand and the image they're obliged to convey. The gimmick.
And I don't get the impression to know the "real" them either after listening to their work (whether they write their lyrics or not).

No, it's just because she doesn't have anything out and didn't promote Cannibal at all.

true tea has been spilled though
They all have the same formulas: party songs, a few ballads here and there, more party songs, songs about sex, more party songs.
However Kesha is more original in the way she rap-sings.

As long as television, clubs, and radio play her music she will be around.

This poll is implying that she was ever that much of a factor to begin with.

Tik Tok was a factor. In fact, it was THE factor of 2010 in pop music. Don't say it wasn't, because whether or not you like her, it clearly was.
And her other singles sold very well too. Not even one under the 2 million mark, which is impressive for a newcomer and makes her anything but a non-factor. She's one of the artists to really watch out for in 2012 if you're a pop music fan.

That's right though. Well, she's taking more of a break for her next album than one might have thought she would. That's unfortunate, but when the album's actually out/the first single drops, I'm sure a lot of eyes will be on her again. People are gonna be curious what she pulls out of the hat.
If what they will find only doesn't disappoint compared to her previous work, then she'll basically become a factor again over night, with more or less of a factor depending on just HOW MUCH it does not disappoint (or exceeds expectations ).

Well, she seems to be laying low but I wouldn't necessarily call her a non factor.

Definitely. I can see the lead single becoming the 2012's Not Myself Tonight/Judas.

She didn't rack up hardly any accolades, she never got praised, she barely performed at any big award shows besides the (AMAS, EMAS), her tour flopped etc she has always been just "there". (She is the perfect example of a singles artist).
