You have nothing to prove against the actual facts.
This wasn't something made up. there were articles about it even back then.
Other artists like U2 and others really began the trend but were past their prime.
They got more money but already had classics so they didn't need radio.
Luckily Britney didn't need radio in her prime which is why they went with a new sponsor.
They went back to clear channel right before Toxic was released.
