What has she done outside of horrible original Disney channel films and that horrible tv series? When Kirsten Dunst was cast she had done The Virgin Suicides, Jumanji and Interview with the Vampire. The level of prestige talent in this series has taken a total nosedive And no, it has nothing to do with her being black, and all to do with her being little more than an industry socialite who has never proven herself as an actress. This could be a career-making role for any number of girls out there. Hollywood will stay losing (most of their blockbusters have bombed this year) if they keep banking on talentless people.

By all means cast a POC actress (would love to see a Latina Maria Juana) but cast someone who deserves it
Idgi, what makes you think she doesn't deserve it, have you seen her casting tape? And what Oscar winner/nominee is going to play a 15 y.o. girl? 12 y.o. Quvenzhané Wallis?
It's always the same with the MCU casting, we complain and then we watch the movie and realize that it works (Tom Holland as Peter). Just give it the benefit of the doubt, or don't watch it
I think she can nail it, at least she fits the model-type figure MJ is suppose to have unlike Kirsten Dunst
