I was looking for this hoping it was already out. It looks like it might be good. I also need Deliver Us From Evil to hurry up and leak in HQ.





The suspense was kind of there, but ultimately it is just the pits. I dragged it before here so won't repeat myself, but knowing the "twist" within the first 10 minutes of the movie ruined it. Plus the terrible actors.

Glad to see there's lots of people who do not stan for that trash(you're next) I waited for that for MONTHS and they tricked me into thinking it'd be scary af and terrifying and it was so bad it was funny I left so disappointed when I left the movie theater.

Deliver us from evil was ok, your typical horror movie but it was really suspenseful and intense so you'd enjoy it.

I guess I'll go tomorrow I pay $5 at this movie theater like 10 min away from home

You're Next was never meant to be scary, what? it was very clear from the trailer that it was a thriller.

Did they actually? I just watched the trailer again and it didn't say anything like that. Every horror film does that anyway. That's how they get people to watch them. And yes there were intentionally comical moments but I don't see what about the movie would be "so bad it's funny".

They finally gave us a movie that had an intelligent and non-airheaded female and for that I'm forever grateful. She's probably one of the easiest protagonists to root for in a movie ever.

It all comes down to personal taste I guess, I'm guessing you probably love CITW as well? I hated that one too. I guess I might be in the minority that hates those two movies when it seems most people like them.

Remove "and terrifying" and you have a completely accurate description TRY telling me the deaths weren't clever. TRY telling me Erin wasn't a total badass.

And like I said, every horror movie ever markets itself as "the most terrifying film since ____" or "so scary you won't sleep for weeks".

And yes, CITW was genius. The final 20 minutes were one of my favorite cinematic moments ever (the epic elevator noises... don't even get me started). Not to mention it was a super clever metaphor/satire.

Yeah, I read Deliver was a lot like Se7en which I love.

Likewise waited for You're Next like my life depended on it, HOPING it'd be Strangers tea since the sequel is never coming. Thankfully I never saw it in theaters, but constantly checked for the leak -- which took forever. Waste of time. The Conjuring was still slaying me though, so it's all good.

The problem is the "cleverness" and Erin's badassness was so overdone and extremely, pretty corny. The plot setup as to why she was a Lara Croft mess was cackle-worthy. It was just a huge try-hard movie. However, I do understand why some may enjoy it and why the critics reveled in it. Overall though, it's not the tea deep down.

While I agree to a certain extent about them trying too hard to make her a badass, a forced heroine is still miles better than everyone in the movie being a dumbass. It's refreshing seeing someone survive who actually deserved it than someone just getting lucky or the police coming to their rescue.

I just watched The Girl Next Door and um... yeah, it was really, really disturbing/disgusting. I didn't know it was based off of a true story... that's so sad that those things actually happened. I'm going to watch An American Crime since apparently it follows the facts more, and it has Ellen Page.

The Wikipedia page for the aunt who did all the abuse says that the case will be portrayed in AHS: Freak Show since the victim's parents left her daughter in her aunt's care to work at a carnival. If that's actually true then I'm super excited.

It got a distribution deal last month so it could get a straight to DVD release sometime soon

What is there not to love? Amazing death scenes, amazing suspense, it's easily one of the best thrillers this decade/millennium.

the only 'amaziing' death scene was the mom's.


EDIT: Oh, and Deliver Us From Evil is laughable, but the owl scene was kinda good.
