Ryan knows that Ted Cruz is a roach that needs to be dealt with.

After McCain lost, the GOP elected Romney...he was the opposite of a radical.
2016 is an anomaly in the since that you have an anti-establishment fervor on both sides with the rise of Trump/Sanders. That's why Hillary should not take this election lightly.
Murdoch's sons can push whatever agenda they want on FOX News...push a more moderate tone and the viewers will adopt that tone. The sheep are easy to manipulate.

Everything Ryan has done so far indicates that he is just as weak, if not more so, than Boehner.
1) Only running for Speaker if the Freedom caucus embraced him.
2) Embracing Donald Trump; endorsing, nominating and killing the NeverTrump movement.
3) Failing to pass his 'Better Way' proposals because of Tea Party opposition.
He will do nothing to push back against the radical forces because he needs them to govern.
Mccain himself was not radical. The Tea Party wave of 2010 happened of the popularity of Palin and continues to gain momentum. Romney's failed candidacy strengthened the Freedom Caucus in 2014. There is nothing to indicate that the GOP will move back centre.
Fox News was not this radical during the Mccain/Romney years. The rise of the Tea Party pushed them further rightwards. They go where the news is.
