Maybe you're right about the location but the whole thing with the ex showing up felt like such a convenient plot point in a movie that's not about plot.

I was also rooting for Cate despite her being an awful person but I liked the ending. Much darker than I expected. I think it hurt the movie commercially but then again Woody Allen did say that if his movies lose money, he knows he's doing something right!

Tropica is already forgotten. Lipsters will stay bringing up Gaga whenever their fave release a video, like how the National Anthem and Ride video were supposed to be better than anything Gaga has done yet they were forgotten about the day after they premiered and never watched or spoken about again. The cycle will start again whenever that thing releases a new video
