The novelty has worn off.

Whilst I don't disagree that the quality of presentation has declined, it's not notable enough to the average person to place full blame on it. They're just going to see her antics as more of the same.

Her next trick is going to have to be reinvention. Come up with something new that's fresh and interesting. That could be stripping everything back. It could be going rock. It could be R&B.

C2C is a great start in this regard, but the mass appeal is questionable.

A user here really described why Gaga going in the 'gimme a hit' direction is the worst thing ever and it was spot on. I am not thirsty for #1 singles produced by Max Martin or Stargate and I hope Gaga the lying Queen of Pop isn't either. Everyone wanted 'fun Gaga' back and we sort of got her...ish...On ARTPOP. Too bad the only people having fun are 1) Gaga and 2) Radio ARTPOP monsters (though select tracks do more for me while intoxicated). There should be zero desire to make radio candy hits. Gaga can achieve success without resorting to those tactics if she makes an album that makes her standout in an overrated type of way. To do so, Gaga should not look at her past albums for inspiration as she did with ARTPOP.

I really thought Gaga was going to be the new Queen of Reinvention, but she hasn't progressed as much as I thought she would. The Fame/Monster might be her last good era, and BTW her final good solo album, and that's fine. Other artists release good material and produce solid eras, and if I want a good Gaga record I'll listen to her past work.

Aura is definitely the most progressive EDM sounding track in the album and even that was wasted. Gaga needs to work with a better songwriter. The polarizing intro and then the epic dance build up...but the first line being 'I'm not a wandering slave'

Venus is kind of like Bad Romance, but there is something refreshing about it...it's silly/camp and I love it.

GUY sounds like LoveGame as well as 90s boy band music

Applause unfortunately sounds 2011, specially like Katy Perry's Peacock but with a Just Dance inspired intro.
