Glad to know we are seeing results. The server is working just fine, and I love the new layout. Though Lee!!'s looked a biT different than what I'm seeing but ok, keep up all that good work!

Listen, I think some of you are kind of forgetting who the mods are. We're not benefiting from your ATRL+ money. We gain nothing from lying to you. We gain nothing from perpetuating the server issues by covering up conspiracies in which Joe spends the money. We tell you that they are not abusing the ATRL+ system because that is a fact. We tell you that the server is being worked on and the upgrades are coming because that is a fact. We are just like you in regards to the server situation but for the fact that we get a little more information - that's it. I have complete faith in the admins regarding the issue, just as I have since a looong time ago when I was a nobody defending them in in the first server issues thread, and you should all have faith that they will fix the site, too. I really, really promise that it's happening. And that's all I have to say on the server matter for now. Goodnight.

If I'm wrong I apologize. But ATRL uses VB3. They want to upgrade to VB5, which is still in beta (meaning there are still enough glitches that it doesn't need to be used on a live site). They could go to VB4, but that'll also require losing a lot of the custom features/extensions that is currently used on ATRL. And they'd just have to port it over to VB5 anyway.

There's a lot of work to do with scripting, making sure any extra features they use is compatible with VB5 and any server specific requirements (such as PHP or Perl or whatever). So there's a lot that goes into it. It's not like they can just push a button and everything will be magically done.

Add to that that they're having to do this work on their own. That means not only learning what needs to be done, but working through trial and error. I understand the frustration, but as someone who manages dedicated servers in addition to the ones I run my websites on, it's not something that can be rushed.

- To go w/ the scripting and work they have to do on their own paragraphs, one of the Moderators told us a month or two ago they hired someone to help them with the site. And even if you do it independently...A YEAR?

You're completely correct. Also: mods have nothing to do with this upgrade. It's all on the owner/admins. It seems like the staff is huge but all we do is moderate threads and posts. We are very sorry about the length of time spent on the upgrade but we're just as annoyed and stressed as the rest. If ATRL wasn't so unique and custom-built this wouldn't be a problem. Damn us for being so amazing
