Usher has been around for almost 20 years. He's won Grammys, AMAs, VMAs, Billboard Awards etc. He has a diamond album. He's ESTABLISHED just as much as JT.

JT isn't "needed" but I'd rather have him in the loop than out of it. He shines when he does music, not when he does those pathetic movies. I'd say he's definitely more talented than most males out right now excluding Usher and Bruno. Bruno may be his main competition right now.

Well, even though there are current male pop stars, none of them seem relevant enough in matching up to the big pop ladies (a la Gaga, Rihanna, Katy Perry). Timberlake however, was on that level back in 2006 and 2007. And it wasn't just his music, but overall star power too. The market doen't necessarily "need" him, but I think there is a place and now is the right time.
