I'm not pressed over anyone and I never have been. Adele could have outsold Thriller and sold 5 million in Japan. I wouldn't care if she was global. Good for her, she deserves it. But I'm no going to sit here, in this world where she is not global, and after pointing that out, let someone list off a bunch of countries that I did not mention and that do not counter what I said at all.

She sells well for a western artist, but my issue is that other stars like Rihanna and Avril Lavigne do just as well or better. While Adele does well for a western artist, her success is rather limited, having only one top ten and a mildly successful album. It's been certified for 100k, while Gaga, who is also western, has been certified for 750k. Of course I don't think an artist has to be as successful there as Gaga to be global, but I don't think Adele's success there is enough yet.

There's nothing interesting about my posting history. I casually read, sift through the pages, and occasionally respond.

At the core, this is a standard thread created for the sole purpose of fishing for compliments. The thread creator should clue you in on that (because all his threads have a similar theme). With that in mind, you shouldn't be so affected that someone might suggest Adele as being global.
