No one really knows who Rihanna is when I ask in Latin America, so let's not got that far..
Gaga is the only truly global artist. Not even Beyonce can touch her. Maybe Britney.
What are you talking about? I'm from Chile and Rihanna is currently bigger than Gaga. Everyone loves Rihanna here. Britney and Madonna are bigger than both though.
Please don't say that Britney is global. In the UK Britney's songs havn't been played widely in years and its the same situation is most other parts of Europe, Africa & Asia. She may have been global in the past but she ain't anymore.
Of course not, there are obviously others. Rihanna, Beyoncé, Coldplay (they've got a significant presence in Asia) are all global presences, and I'm only mentioning a few. I'm not understanding this "truly global" nonsense, becasue they're all very famous worldwide. The question isn't about who's more global, but simply who is global.
Not to mention I still consider Madonna a "modern" act even though she's not from this generation.
Yes, for the most part. Most of the other girls have large amounts of success localized in one or two regions of the world. I don't see how anybody can be considered "global" just because people in another country know your name. If you can't at least pull an arena-sized crowd then I don't see how you can get excited just because people know who you are. She's pulling stadium-sized crowds...

Her album flopped in the UK, but her tour did really well.
And I didn't know you visited every continent to see if they played Britney.
