For what it's worth, it's not fair to compltetely discredit Kesha's part in all of this since we don't know how much of Dr.Luke's now tademark sound was influenced or determined by her. He certainly didn't have that uniquness before her so she likely played a critical role in it's development.


Kesha detractors will just have to deal with that.

but honestly even if k$ wasn't here there would still be another "usual sound/style" as you say. It's been happening since the 90s. Radio and the music industry is like that now.

StarGate and RedOne for example produce just as good (and generic) songs as Luke.

Every successful song released by Katy Perry, Kesha, Jessie J , Avril Lavigne, Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus and Flo Rida in the past few years is his doing. The only exception is Firework, which came after Luke delivered her multiple #1 hits.

In the past few years, he's done:
My Life Would Suck Without You, Right Round, Party in the U.S.A., Tik Tok, Your Love Is My Drug, Take It Off, My First Kiss, Teenage Dream, Last Friday Night, California Gurls, E.T., The One That Got Away, Part Of Me, Dynamite, We R Who We R, Blow, Till the World Ends, Hold It Against Me, Price Tag, Domino, Good Feeling, and a slew of other Top 10 hits.

When Nicki reached the platform of the highest pop-stars, she turned to him. Rihanna, the hit-making queen eventually turned to him. He gave the public no choice when it came to Jessie J.

If that type of stuff isn't power in the recording industry, I don't know what is.

p.s. RedOne is an amateur. The only currently-successful producers in the same hit-making stratosphere as Luke are Max Martin and StarGate.

No she did not. If anything it was the songs with Euro-techno influences that changed the sound of the airwaves. Artists like Flo Rida and Cascada have been doing it for quite some time already even before Lady Gaga and Kesha started writing their debut singles.

No. It has been like that since 2007 with Blackout and Don't Stop the Music then it continued in 2008 with Forever, Just Dance, Disturbia, Poker Face then Kesha. I admire her confidence with generic music tho.. She's the best artist that comes up with party music. I'm a fan.
