i mean i am not siding with the other team and i know things about shark but dont use it as agood thing!!
Huh? The person is simply stating facts. Not making anything a ''good thing''. Sharks aren't human eaters or killers. The reason why they attack us (often surfers) is because they mistake us for a seal. They don't like human meat and that's why they often surrender after attacking, and usually don't kill the person.
You have GOT to be kidding me. Quit watching Jaws and Sharknado and actually spend a few hours watching Shark Week next month. Educate yourself. Sharks rarely kill people. You are more likely to be killed by lightning and/or a tornado than by a shark.
Sharks specifically target weak and injured prey. The only shark species that are really concerning are:
Bull Shark
Tiger Shark
Great White Shark
Oceanic White Tip
This shark is neither of those. Also, most shark attack fatalities (particularly the Great White) is a result of the shark doing an investigation bite to see what the hell the person is, then they let go and leave the scene because they're not interested. Great whites really do not like humans because we're too bony and they prefer fat-rich prey. However, the bite is very intense and most shark fatality victims die from blood loss from a bite, rather than because the shark was going for the kill.
Kind of how I feel about this tbh. I love animals and all, and I was upset about Harambe the gorilla, but this is a shark, a predator that wouldn't hesitate to shred you into tiny pieces the very second he could get within 5 feet of you, so I don't feel nearly as bad.
The only upsetting part of this story is the fact that they thought it necessary to pull it out just to take a photo for the kiis. Kind of pointless, but at least there wasn't a human life at stake this time.
More like, when you get within 5 feet of them. As long as you stay out of their area, you're good. This shark in particular was minding its own business when these idiots thought it was fun to, basically, kill him for a photo.

All of this post. People fail to realize that out of the 400 species of shark only a handful of them are aggressive and attack people

i know girl! i know a thing or two about sharks ans animals... but does it matter if u die of blood loss or because it ate u? it aint change the fact that they are dangerous beings! of course this doesnt justify a group dragging the poor thing out to take a pic with it! its soemthing really vile to do...
I'm sure these guys all have (1) TVs with (2) Discovery Channel on SAP along with (3) a DVR to record Shark Weelk programming in case they miss it, or (4) ELECTRICITY at airtime in a country where it comes and goes sporadically.
How were y'all to know about the country's electricity crisis? Oh! Doesn't matter just a bunch of sharks savages.
If you're outraged by this but eat animals, check yourself.
The difference is the animals we consume are not Endanger species. Not to mention these people did not kill this shark tonest it and survived. The killed it to get 15 seconds of fame on Facebook

Thanks for the info (not to be read sarcastically, I always welcome new info). But you can't actually expect the average person to know all that unless they happen to be a shark enthusiast.
Also, in the same comment where you chastised me for thinking sharks are dangerous, you just listed off 4 "really concerning" species of sharks, mentioned how sharks like to randomly bite things (people) to test and see what they are but they don't really care, how intense and painful a shark bite is, and how sharks usually kill through bites and blood loss instead of malicious intent. That doesn't sound like a very convincing argument to me.
But thankfully they won't always tear me limb from limb and leave me for fish food every time, so I guess that's a win?

No, it doesn't matter. The member was trying to indicate that sharks aren't out to kill us.

Yes it matters. When I was responding to someone who was saying that sharks would not hesitate to spread a person to death for food, then yes, it is very much relevant that most shark deaths are due to investigation bites after the shark has left due to lack of interest than if a shark is actually going for a kill.

what the **** does this have to do with anything?
Hun, if they were white, people would be just as pissed off. Stop.
Girl you've been here for 12 years you're obviously the oldest one in Here but acting like the youngest. If you didn't understand shark behavior you should had kept your mouth shut before saying something ignorant
Hi! Don't think we've formally been introduced!
I suggest you try it with another one. Was also unaware that I got wildlife pamphlets as part of my AARP Jr. membership. Must've slipped my feeble, 27-year-old noggin.

Are you assuming they're poor because they're not caucasian ?
Hun, if they were white, people would be just as pissed off. Stop.
Would they? Cause I see a bunch of people calling them monkeys and ******s in the comments of the video. I sincerely doubt the same would happen if they were white.
Also I never defended them for doing this. I said what they did was senseless. All I'm saying is: it's a shark. It's a dangerous, predatory animal either way you slice it. This isn't Zootopia yall, I have to draw the line some where.

Sis, he brings up those points because of the 400 shark species only a handful are really dangerous to people, in fact most sharks are small and harmless. And that bite test behavior he described is mostly a yatic used by tiger and great white sharks

Context, boo. When sharks kill anywhere from 1-5 people a year on average, and there are hundreds of shark species.... Obviously, there are some species that are going to appear more.
For instance, shark attacks by the Greenland Shark do not happen because Greenland Sharks are never found swimming in the same waters as humans. At large, sharks are not that concerning. But if I were to be asked which shark is more concerning, or which shark I'd rather not be in a tank with, between a Bull Shark and a Whale Shark, I am most definitely going to avoid the Bull Shark (given it has the highest testosterone levels of any animal on the planet). However, that still doesn't change the fact that bull sharks don't kill enough people each year to make them that big of a threat. Should you be wary of them and respect them? Absolutely. They're a wild animal. They're not harmless. But, you can't act like they're savages. That's inappropriate.
