Kanye's album went Gold with no actual hits though. Jay-Z had successful singles, including a Top 5 hit.

Kanye's total is barely higher than Jay's first week and I don't think he did any promo performances.

Kanye did SNL, VMAs, talk shows, released more singles, and did a video with topless Kim.
