While I get what you're saying, that's not strictly true. I think it's less a case of "hoping the title track is good while the rest of the album is a throwaway", and more a case of people anticipating and just assuming that's going to be the case, therefore kind of automatically forcing that opinion upon idol groups that make really great music. Over the past couple of years i can think of several groups, outside of YG, that have made quality music outside of their title tracks, with the respect of good musicianship. f(x), SHINee, TVXQ, SISTAR, Hyorin's solo, Taemin's solo, VIXX, Rain, there's plenty more. YG is just as big of a pop factory as any other entertainment industry.

Without sounding pompous, YG just has a broader appeal than most other idols/groups, which is not only reflected in how their artists chart in Korea, but also how they crossover to Western countries. Like magazine spreads, fashion recognition, getting their music played on ads, having the biggest K-Pop hit of all time, getting recognised by labels/high profile managers. While most of those listed may have good music, they don't have what YG acts have. It sounds incredibly stan-like to say, but really, that is why I stan for YG. They are top notch.
It's a different factory though. It's kind of like the pop industry compared to the urban industry in America. Both are obviously money machines, but have very different approaches to making their coin and promoting their artists. I think that's the fundamental difference with YG? Maybe I'm wrong
