OT if YG could make a girl group with 7/+ members that could kill intensive choreo a la IGAB every comeback he might literally make my favourite group ever.
Maybe not 9, but I'd be here for 7 at the most. And I didn't mean by that that I want him to do a cute concept, I just hope that they're not too same-y to the kind of hip-hop/pop crossover pretty much all YG acts are, with the exception of AKMU.
I'm sure they will be with G-Dragon productions and the fact their most prominent member is a rapper - oh and they are YG Family

YG will give us a synchronized 8 member version of this

Waste of time mate, SOTE was joking. He's a YG stan w/o the delusion.
That's one of the nicest things anyone has said to me in here
Well it's a mainstream business sis. He's not an indie label, so of course embracement of trends is going to happen. Either way, very few agencies do them like YG. Even if the sound is somewhat generic, the delivery isn't
Oh, of course! I wouldn't expect a company to not have some sort of appeal to the masses.
It's interesting that in this "off-season" for idols where they're not as embraced as much as they were a couple of years ago (to my knowledge, anyway), YG has still kept the public interested in his idols by giving the public what they want.
Exactly what do you mean by "the delivery"? Like the album campaigns, etc?
nn I wouldn't discuss YG with you this year anyway though. You threw 2NE1 aka the pioneers of your musical shift under the bus as soon as CRUSH dropped and haven't looked back since.
I want the new YG girl group to have a "sensual" concept.
Something like miss A's Hush, SISTAR19's GNAAL and Be Natural to an extent.
Something dark and sexy

jongshic taking the words out of my work, thank you sis.

I think it would be awesome if they came with a dark and gritty foundation like josh suggested, then randomly surprised everyone with a sensual, intimate, vulnerable concept like those. A lot like AS but with actual comebacks and more music-based than just poll dancing.
Which is exactly why I played devil's advocate and went along, instead of saying "I wasn't being serious!"

YG is very keen and has an image that his acts are artists first and idols second. YG acts are like a hybrid. They have the image/mass appeal of idols (for i-fans/teens interested in idols), but the respect/musicianship along the lines of a Roy Kim/Busker Busker release. Koreans tend to invest into artists that are musicians more than ever these days, than the pop factories of SM, PLEDIS, CCM, etc, etc...
Yeah, the visuals... the performances. You know it's going to be of quality, or at the very least that's a safe assumption. With most idols, you hope the title track is good and then the rest of the release is usually throwaway.
SOTE proving a good point, sad to see PLEDIS in that list because I do believe AS is so talented in terms of being standards for a girl idol group. Taking on new challenges and what not.
I love girl groups, always have, always will, so I'm always going to be tuned in but nowadays, I do look for the talent/innovation in these groups.
All we get is everybody using the same producer over and over.
So, I hope that Red Velvet will be given their "sound" after Be Natural and that YG's SNSD will be producing more than just title tracks. I even have hope for the female Infinite that's been in the works also.
Let MAMAMOO lead the pack also, they're great, you can write them off as WG's Nobody concept as an idol group but that's just being ignorant to what they're really serving.

While I get what you're saying, that's not strictly true. I think it's less a case of "hoping the title track is good while the rest of the album is a throwaway", and more a case of people anticipating and just assuming that's going to be the case, therefore kind of automatically forcing that opinion upon idol groups that make really great music. Over the past couple of years i can think of several groups, outside of YG, that have made quality music outside of their title tracks, with the respect of good musicianship. f(x), SHINee, TVXQ, SISTAR, Hyorin's solo, Taemin's solo, VIXX, Rain, there's plenty more. YG is just as big of a pop factory as any other entertainment industry.
A dark(?) I Love You would slay my spirit and revive me again

AS's concept is it's downfall as well as it's saviour. It brought in Nana, UEE and Raina, but it also makes them look disposable in the grand scheme of things, or at least that's what I assume Koreans might think of them as. It's clear now that K-Pop and group changes don't bode well.
I do wonder why JYP fell off though? I guess I never really cared to think, but it's not like his music is very generic either? Maybe Koreans really hated him for what he did to WG's
Speaking of YG's new girl group, I wonder who sings in this song. I love her voice
If she's not one of the girls who left, high chances it's Chaeyeoung. She won YG's audition in Australia and joined YG a couple of months before the song came out.

2NE1 aren't all YG has to offer, though.
I love Taeyang's album and I enjoyed Akmu, too. Winner's debut was alright, as well as Crush. None of YG's music this year has been bad.

Oh, I see what you mean now. I can agree with that, although I do find it somewhat ironic that acts like Winner are literally being manufactured to look authentic. It's not necessarily a bad thing but it does give off the vibe that YG is trying to be ~above pop music~ sometimes, though, which can be annoying because it's still pop music.
