That's what pisses me off so much. Her argument would be stupid regardless of the fact, but she IS nominated. Three times. And they're not for irrelevant, ******** categories like the one Rihanna's up for either. It's like being pissed off for being picked up in a party bus instead of a stretch limo.

And, yes, Beyoncé is their token black. Even Nicole has stated this in the past. The video itself is damn sure not deserving.

First of all Iggy's videos didnt even get nominations for rap categories, all pop categories. Secondly if you multiply all of Iggy's VMAs she got for being a lead artist and multiply them by 10 million Nicki still has more than her. Lastly Iggy couldnt even go platinum with a #1 hit while Nicki went platinum when the highest her single (at the moment) rose to were #13

"Anaconda" is not worthy of recognition, but it being a "weak seller" and a radio flop has nothing to do with her not being nominated.

I don't know why a VMA is held in such high regards by some.

Did we forget it is the VMA ?? It's about the video and not the song .. So who cares if it only sold 1.3 million. The video broke the vevo record at the time and spawned many of memes .. Had NYFW models doing the dance moves ..

If its based off of success, then Taylor isnt winning anyway, Uptown Funk is. The award itself may not go to light taps, but a nomination isnt too much to ask. It was still one of the most impactful videos of the past year. I mean, Alright and 7/11 were nominated. They could have taken one of those out, bc Anaconda is more deserving.

There are many possible reasons why Anaconda was snubbed: not a legit hit, vulgar video, vulgar lyrics about ass, dick and *****, more than half of the song is sampled, Nicki just makes weird noises for like 1/3 of the song. I like the song and the video but it's not an outrage that it was snubbed.

Wrecking Ball is considered vulgar by many but it's a love ballad and the video is more raw/emotionally naked than sexual. I'm sure if Miley had sung and done what Nicki sings and does in Anaconda, she would also have been snubbed.
