Nicki is an odd phenomenon, I don't think she has actually FLOPPED yet, maybe she's had an under performance but she's pretty omnipresent.

I mean was Applause receiving great response upon release? And Pop is now exciting for her fans again. I think 2015 will be much better than 2014, and somehow Rihanna will help out with that. She's not pop's savior but she is definitely a staple.
I just don't get this hopping on Kanye and Paul. For some forgotten feature okay, but not a lead single. Using the names of powerful men should be a last resort to get back in the game (e.g. Only, Truffle Butter, Drunk In Love). Not something you do when you're still on top.

all i remember is ppl saying it wasn't generic and Cap10 saying it sounded like something Flo Rida would do

and Diamonds will forever be her worst lead single
And hopefully FFS will have one at the Grammys but even in saying that, Kanye is going to ruin it, especially if there's a mashup between FFS/Only One.

Rihanna usually doesn't hype her music though whereas Gaga has always been more outspoken about her musical projects, which sometimes makes a difference.

Not TEW much on Ye he's never been known as a singer, and If Rih actually delivers a solid vocal performance the song may still receive a huge boost prior to the Video, and FFS is doing well without the aid of streaming
one of the producers seemed too be pretty confident that his song would be the lead. I.imagine that his song got pushed back to second single status
Producers are often feeling themselves. She's probably still looking for a hit. That's the only reasonable explanation for the tragedy of a song we got as the lead.
